Not sure if what I posted on the Game Show thread should be there or not, so, I figured I'd start this thread.

Have you ever won anything???

DH won a cruise, including air fare, and $250 spending money, on a Radio game show.

I won a trip to Las Vegas, including air fare, and a 4 night stay at the New York, NY hotel. I had NO idea what I was even "trying for". It was sponsored by the local TV news station, and I called in and answered the question correctly, and about fainted when he told me I had won. Then I didn't even know WHAT I had won. We were so excited , that trip came at the PERFECT time!!!

We've won lots of other stuff, too....concert tickets, electric bill paid for a month (HOT HOT HOT Summer contest by a radio station), gift cards.......hmmm, I'm sure there is more, but can't think of it all right now.

I won a cassette tape from a radio call in. I knew the movie quote was from "Cocktail". I've also won a Nestle kit (spoon, cup, and bowl), MP3 player, and from my Granparents VFW hall a $100 from a raffle (that was so cool since I was just a teen).

I've won some very cool radio contests. Last year, I won a $300 package: $100 giftcard to the mall, $100 to a day spa, and $100 to a restaurant.

I won a trip to the superbowl in Atlanta 13 years ago.

Each night on the news they showed a ref make a football call. (I don't like football, DH told me what it was). You had to see the call and then the next morning a radio station would tell you when to call in and tell them the call. At that point you won a Tshirt. I was happy with that! They then took all the correct call-in names and drew out a winner. I won.

I was 5 months pregnant with our oldest dd. It was a 4 day trip, I think. We went and did the whole experience, but I was so tired and having Braxton Hicks. We weren't fans of either team and there were scalpers everywhere. DH was worried about me, so he sold the tickets at game time for $2200. We and 2 other couples who did the same thing, caught a cab back to the hotel, watched the game in the bar and then we bought all the furniture for dd's room with the money!

Hubby won all expense paid trip to Germany to see Roger Walters in concert Pink Floyd The Wall. We had a ball!!

When I was younger we went to CA and went to the game show Card Sharks while we were there(now you know what I mean by younger!!) anyway they gave you tickets when you went in and they pulled my number, I won a vucuum.

I won tickets for two to a NASCAR race from a local radio station. I also won $700 from local TV station. I've won tickets to our local theatre and dinner before the show. And then I've won other smaller things, i.e., CDs, $10 gift certificates. Oh, once when I was first married, I won lunch at a nice restaurant and a limo ride for our entire secretary staff at the law firm I worked for. That was fun. The lawyers watched the phones and took care of clients coming in so we could all go!!

These weren't from like radio stations or anything, but I just won $105 from JC Penney's for their 105 year anniversary contest. It came in a gift card. Hubby won the Blockbuster Yoda a few years ago. He also won a used car from the after prom party in high school. His last win was a cell phone from the Pepsi promo last year.

My 13 year old one a red IPod video from VO5.

I was so excited to win the JC Penney's contest. I NEVER, EVER win anything.

I've won CDs, concert tickets, tickets to Disney on Ice, gift certificates for various local eateries and stores and I won a "new baby" shopping spree just before I found out I was pregnant with DD--talk about perfect timing!

I remember winning some ice cream back when I was a kid at a bazzaar raffle. I also won a puppet from a drawing contest. Also as a kid. When I was a teen, I entered a contest from "16" magazine..you had to write an essay on why you wanted a pair of nike shoes. They were very "in" back in the early 80's..hot items. so I wrote an essay saying if I had a pair of Nikes, I would run fast like the greek God with wings on his ankles. I won the shoes, but when I wrote the size ( I think 9's)..they sent me size 9 in toddlers !! I was 16! so, I gave them to my baby sister and she was so in style with her nikes at age 3

oh, I remember another thing. I once went to a car show with dh. My youngest ds was an infant. I was sitting with him under a tree in the shade when the radio announcer at the show said he had a prize for the first person to come up to his table there. I looked over and the table was about 10 feet from me. I picked up ds and walked over and I won a Napa parts dealer steel 18 wheel toy truck

When I was about 8 I won a swivel rocker. There was this furniture place that me and my family went to check out and we all put our names in for the rocker. A couple of days later a guy called my house and told me I won. I didn't believe him and he had to tell me several times that he was really from that store and that I won. I've won a bunch of radio contests with the best prize being my diamond and tanzanite ring. (other radio prizes were pizza parties, GC to lots of local places, show tickets - Gallagher, Carrot Top, green bagels for St. Patty's day...had to write a limerick and they actually read it on the air! ,etc) Plus all the instant win games I play, I've won lots of neat stuff...too much to list OR remember! Oh I almost forgot...I won a local chili cook-off....even beat my dh (he did win the hottest category tho) and we both brought home lots of GC to places from pizza shops to car washes and oil changes. It was the first cook-off they had and we had to cook our chili outside in about 20 degree weather! But it was the best time I've ever had cooking!

One day, my mother took a call informing her that I had won a side of beef. A whole side of beef.

My parents had to rent a meat locker at the butcher. They didn't know if they should kiss me or kill me...

Hubby likes to play the lotto and whenever we lose (which is always) we take the tickets and stick them in the desk draw, We consider them our good luck. We are losing in the lottery and winners in life. I dont know what I would do if we actually won the lotto, probably run around worried that something bad was going to happen in life.

Last Dec. I won 2 roundtrip tickets on Southwest. My dh and I went to New Orleans for a day and then on our first cruise. At my church picnic, my dd and I walked away with 6 prizes at bingo ( mostly gift certificates). About 15 years ago, I won a tv and VCR (when they were new) in a national contest. My dd won headphones. I have won numerous small gifts in many contests.

I won first prize from Toy r us an Arcade game Space Invaders. Cost me $500 between my federal and state taxes. I sold it to pay the taxes. Besides I didn't have room for it and it sat in my kitchen. It was a hit with the neighborhood kids.

I have won a bunch of stuff from radio contests to $$ from scratch off lottery tickets. My family always says I am the luckiest person they know. I am still waiting to win the big lotto though!! I won a vacation to Ft. Lauderdale by playing "wheel of fortune" in a radio sponsored game, front row tickets to the Rolling Stones concert, various GCs and things from local merchants. I save all my losing lottery tickets so when the day comes I win big, I can use them against the winnings (lol!!)

Almost forgot one of the best prizes...a roundtrip (via limo) to the Buffalo Bills playoff game a few years back. Came with food and beverages, it was awesome!! The limo picked us up in the a.m. and the driver treated us like royalty the whole ride, while we ate and drank. Then on the way back he was nice enough to swing by my parents' house to pick up our kids so they could enjoy the ride too.

I'm pretty lucky when it comes to winning radio call-in prizes! Mostly it is just little things (gift certificates, FREE coupons, etc.), but it's fun I've also won a few bath sets and some other little things! Would LOVE to win a trip somewhere . . .
