Would you vote for Al Gore???

Okay.. I'm a replublican by nature, but I have to say that if Al Gore ran in the upcoming election I would vote for him. He's really loosened up and has been really nice to listen to lately. Not to mention, I always did kind of feel bad about whole majority vote/electoral college thing that bit him in the butt. I'm ready for a new administration, but won't vote for Hilary, John Edwards, or Obama.. at least for President. I'd vote for the latter two for vice president, but I won't touch Hilary with a 10 foot pole. I'd rather have G.W. back than vote for Hilary C.

Just wondering what everyone else thought..

I would vote for him. Hard telling, but would we be in this mess if Al Gore were elected rather than George Bush?

I am also a Republican, I would not vote for Gore, I would however vote for Obama if he is the Democratic nominee. I don't really see any Republicans that excite me at this point in the game. Unless Obama is running though I will vote Republican, because I don't see any other Democrats that excite me either.

I would vote for Chester Cheetah before I voted for Gore or Hillary.

Hopefully Thompson will do well--he's supposed to announce on Monday.

I would consider Gore but I need to learn more first. We know where he stands on the environment.

I doubt that I would consider Hillary but I will listen to what she has to say first.

I don't vote straight party lines. I make my decision according to how I feel in different catagories. I don't start really looking at the canidates until the election gets much closer.

would I? Yes
Do I think he'll get the Democratic nomination? NO!
I'm of the opinion that it will either be Barack or Hillary running for President. I don't know nearly enough about Barack--but what I do know, I like.

I am in the minority--I like Hillary!

By the same token--what little I have heard of Mitt Romney I also like.
And even if Mike Huckabee (former Arkansas Governor) was the only name on a ballot for local dog catcher I wouldn't vote for him!
All I know is-thank Goodness for term limits.

I'd rather have Obama. But I'd vote for Gore - I like him better than Hil.

I could live w/ Guiliani if I had to.

You bet I'd vote for Gore, in a heartbeat!! And, I will vote for Hillary if she wins the nomination. I don't like the rest of the candidates though.

Nope, never, no way.

I am liking John McCain at the moment.

Who knows by the time the election gets here, though.

Al Gore is brilliant. Moreover, he knows the Middle East and all the problems we face. He's the best choice to get our country back on the right track.

I would NEVER vote for Hillary or Obama.

Do I like Gore ? No, not really but at least Gore has some experience in Washington.

I voted no, but honestly I haven't heard him lately, so that's not an educated vote. I'm sure he's working toward another run at it, so he's working on that public image?

I do like John McCain, he seems like a straight talker and he's a military guy which I think is a plus these days.

I would vote for him if he won the democratic nomination. But would I vote for him over Hillary or Barack?? Don't know......He is pretty hesitant and says "not running" right now, so who knows.

I agree with the OP who said it is time that we vote for someone who cares for the country---but he also cares for the future of the entire planet....wants to make sure it's here for a while longer.....

Ron Paul is the only candidate that interests me this time around. I am fed up with both Dems and Repubs. I know Ron Paul is a Repub., but he's not your typical Repub.

It was Dan Quayle who could not spell potato correctly, if that is what you are referring to......or am I missing something?

Algore is the one who invented the internet. He's also the one who has lost all touch with reality. He spent 8 years as VP telling the American people what a threat Bin Laden was, but now he's seems to have forgotten.

Please everyone, before you vote for any person (Dem, Rep, Ind) do a little background check and see what they have preached as the truth.

Gore now slams Bush for not signing the Kyoto Treaty when he himself(while still in office) claimed it was against Americas best interest to sign anything that didn't limit the entire worlds energy usuage. Whatever the polls say, so says Gore.

He was the one that helped broker the treaty. It was not ratified due to opposition in the Senate. It was thought of as "fundamentally flawed and dead on arrival".
Gore did want other key developing nations to be on board with it.

Quote:
When Clinton sent negotiators (who were not scientists) to Kyoto last December to work out a treaty to limit CO2 production, he had already chosen the most extreme of all options presented to him by his panel of experts. He then sent environmental extremist Al Gore to urge the U.S. negotiators to "be flexible." The negotiators signed a treaty designed to limit CO2 production in the U.S. to 7% below the 1990 level by 2008, in spite of an increasing population and a slow tendency for increasing energy consumption per capita.

Fortunately, the Senate has refused to ratify the Kyoto treaty, one that would subject U.S. energy production to the whims of third-world dictators (TEA, January, 1998). The reason for the refusal has more to do with economics than with the inept science behind the screams of global warmers, but it is a refusal nonetheless.
Quote:
As the U.S. Constitution is written, treaties must be ratified by two-thirds of the Senate before they go into effect.
Kyoto accords Clinton evades Constitution The Energy Advocate

Just curious though, why spell his name and refer to him as 'Algore'? Is it a "Rush-ism" (term coined by Rush Limbaugh?)?

I think it's a Rushism or Seanism or O'Reilleyism, kind of a childish way to demean the person. Like calling GWB "Shrub."

I am so tired of all thelies that came out of the Bush campaigns being repeated as gospel. We desperately need a rational dialogue about the very serious issues facing this country.

I desperately want someone who can lead this country based on rational facts and doesn't base his decisions on what his "gut" tells him.

Truble, how do you like the new SCOTUS?

Yes, I agree. I first heard of him the other night, and he was on the Bill Maher show, forget what it is called, but, had Ben Affleck and some other guy, and then Ron Paul (I keep thinking Rue Paul, tho.... ) Even the Democratic Ben Affleck liked him. He did have some good things to say. Sadly, tho, as he said, he doesn't have as much money as the others.

I'm just sick to death of all the BS from ALL the political figures, local and in DC.

Al Gore and Hillary NO WAY!! I wouldn't vote for John Edwards either, I live in NC and I don't like him. I would have voted for Obama but than he made the remark about the military and I have a son in the army. Hmmm I can't think of one that has impressed me at this time.

You had better watch how you speak of 'our' glorious President! There are many here who seem to think he's the best thing since sliced bread.

Don't you know that it's all Bill clinton's fault that we're in this war anyway?? God Gawd! How stupid are you?
(yes, folks, that is sarcasm. I, in no way, think BigEyedFish is stupid.)

What good comes out of making nasty comments like this??? Everyone stated their opinions without belittling each other or you. It just seems pointless to me to try and drag it to this level now.

Of course they didn't belittle me , that was my first post expressing my opinion. GEESH

And what? We should be happy that the Republican Conservative Bush lovers managed to bite their tongues through one whole thread? I don't freaking think so!

I've seen some of the same people in this thread who stated their opinion nicely rip into others in different threads. Big deal that they placed nice for a little while.

I was wondering what Pi$$ed you off, but I looked at your posts from other threads and realized that your posts are generally negative and nasty. So why post at all?? What kind of payoff do you get from being a royal ##### to people you don't even know??

The only payoff I get is the satisfaction of knowing that I got under your skin. If what I posted bothered you so much you could have ignored it. At least that is what I've always heard, 'just ignore the negative posters'.

and another thing, this is the first time I have posted in a long while, and not all of my posts were negative. So, did you go back and research some really old stuff? WOW! That just smacks of having way too much time on your hands.

Nope, not a lot of time on my hands. I just don't understand mean spirited people like you. So I took the time to see if you were just having a bad day or if you were generally a nasty person. Obviously, you're generally a nasty person. No big deal. It takes all kinds. If there weren't people like you... we wouldn't notice when people were nice, and wouldn't appreciate it as much.
