Exclamation Real estate School!

Oh my gosh I just registered for real estate school! I have been a stay at home mom for the past 12 1/2 years. I have never worked since we had kids right after I graduated high school, and I am very nervous! I went to college, and quit with 19 hours left to go because I hated wasting time and money when I just want to be a mom anyways. Dh and I have been flipping foreclosed homes for a few years now, so I decided I would get my real estate license to get on the inside track for that! I hope I can pass! I stink at math! lol

This is exciting! I'd love to go into Real Estate and when my youngest gets a little older I'm going to give it a try. Keep us posted, I'm courious about what school will be like...at 45 years old I'm SO intimadated by taking a "class".
GOOD LUCK!

Good choice!
I remember talking to a gal at Target. She was finishing real estate school and was SO excited. There are great prospects in that area. Based on you flipping homes and having some knowledge and familiarity, I am sure you will do just fine.
Way to go

Best of luck, and I hope this is a great new beginning for you!

If you've been flipping homes, you are probably pretty comfortable with most of the paperwork involved in real estate, and the calculations. I bet you'll do fine on the test!

Thanks, I appreciate everyones support, because since this morning I feel like a horrible mother for taking time to go to school, and then potentially working a little bit!

Better get used to it. People want to see houses in the evenings and on weekends. It is not a family friendly job.

I think you will do great if you are already flipping houses but like above poster I agree with this being a weekend & evening job however I know a guy who does this & brings his baby with them quite a bit so who knows maybe it wont be so bad

Only thing that makes me feel a little better is that my husband works from home so there will be no day care or baby sitters, I'd really like to go work part time for a builder and sit in the model home while the kids are at school, and then maybe every other weekend! Who knows I'll see what happens!

Congratulations - it is a big step! Your children will not only be fine, they will be proud of you. They are 13 and 8? Plenty old enough to have a Mom who is gone every so often (esp. since Dad is going to be at home!). Good luck in school!

Real estate class is more law than math. If you want to take the exam you have to have a real estate broker sponsor you

In California you don't have to have a broker sponser you to take the test. I took it and passed about a year and a half ago.

I don't have to be sponsored by a broker in NC either, I have to pass the class exam, and then mail in my certificate, and set up a time to go take the state test. This will be my third week, and I really love it. It is hard, and we had a quiz yesterday, and I missed 4 out of 30. I study about 4 hours a day 2 before the kids get up, and 2 after they go to bed! Hopefully that will be enough studying to let me pass!
