Spinoff... Do It Yourself Repairs

The crayon in the pencil sharpener got me to thinking...

What are some of the things that you have repaired that were simple repairs?

I have two to share:

1) When the kids were babies, one time the floppy disc drive on the computer started to not take discs. My DH got to looking in there and saw one of those 'POGS' wedged in there. He was able to pry it out. Cheap repair! Luckily.

2) Just last week I was trying to print things from my printer and couldn't get it to grab the paper on the right side. I was thinking it was giving up and it was time to get a new one. My DH suggested spraying out the inside with a can of air. Low and behold, out flew about 1/4 of one Cheerio. Hmmm... How did that get there? Now the printer works fine! Thank goodness... I just bought a ton of new ink on eBay.

I'm the one that puts furniture together, I mended 4 drawers the kids had broken <Putting bottoms in, nailing, faceplates ect> I had 2 broken headsets for the pc and interchanged parts til i had one that worked. on the opposite direction since we're moving this weekend I've taken the coffee table, end tables, kitchen tables, bunkbed, my bed, bookcases x5 apart so they wont take up as much space

Thank God my DH is a whiz at all home repair stuff! But sometimes so much that he is helping everyone else and MY stuff doesn't get done. But usually he and his best friend EVENTUALLY get around to my stuff.

I could probably do a lot more than I do, but I never get the chance.
DH fixes everything and anything.
I wish I had put aside the money he has saved us!
I do paint, and make curtains, pillows and do all kinds of decorating tho!

Dh fixes everything that I can't Haven't had to pay a repairman ever. I have fixed the VCR a few years ago by turning it upside down and shaking it. Lo and behold, a bunch of cheerios came out LOL...kids. Worked fine after that.DH can also repair and help with computer problems. We sometimes wish my mom didn't know this She calls a lot with simple things that she's made complicated LOL

If we had a place to do it, DH would do our oil changes and auto repair too
