Paris Hilton released from jail

According to TMZ.com, Paris has been released from jail after serving three days of her 23 day sentence. Wow, and after all of the media frenzy preceding it.

OUR kids wouldn't be out in 3 days....they'd be in there for the full 23 days!!!! And YES, it's definitely sending them a message.....that stars get away with quite a bit!!!! Just my opinion

WHAT????? OMG, she makes me sick to begin with. Last night, Nicole Richie was on Letterman, and said she is probably facing jail time, too. Not sure what she did. Dave asked her what is the problem with "young Hollywood" and she said something along the lines of "everyone goes to jail" . Dave said "I'm 3 times your age, and I've never been there". OMG, what is wrong with people??? And, gee, with people getting sprung like this....no wonder. Don't get me started on our "justice" system......I stated a bit in the thread on Kelsey Smith.

Paris Hilton was released from jail early Thursday due to an unspecified medical condition after serving only three days of a 23-day sentence.

I just read on CNN that sources said that part of the "medical condition" was because she was refusing to eat some of the jail food served to her...... I wonder if all the inmates were to decide not to eat if they would be allowed to go home too.

I understand the initial reaction of outrage. I felt it too.

However, let's put the blame where it actual lies: the state justice system.

While I think she should have done her time, I can't really blame her for leaving when they granted her the opportunity to leave early. I believe were I in her shoes I would probably do the same.

Parents of young kids - especially girls: we really need to encourage our kids to look to better people to pick as role models. This means limiting or refusing articles and mags that feature people like Paris. Not buying the music and jewelry that she hawks. Not allowing them to watch shows like The Simple Life. Maybe if we start teaching them at an early age about how these stars really are and the values that seperate them from us, our kids won't look up to them.

I hope this does not come off like I am defending Paris, because I'm really not. I don't like her and feel her stardom was a result of her parent's money and a sex tape. But the problem is much bigger than her being let out of jail 20 days early. It's more indicative of our laws, the penal system and, sadly, our culture and how we define a person's succe$$

I really do feel pitty for these girls. I don't know why but I do. Britney, Paris, Nicole there has to be something lacking in thier lives for them to be this dumb!

Maybe we should all pray for them, maybe common sense will fall upon them sometime?

We were all young and dumb once the only difference is my bank account wouldn't have meant anything to help my ignorance along.

Guess if you're young and rich you get the 'get out of jail free' card. This whole thing makes me so angry. If that would have been one of our kids (or any of the others in that particular jail), they would be serving their time. "Poor little pitiful Paris." And to think there are little girls out there who want to be like her. Our court system is who we should be upset with, though, because as one reporter put it this morning during the questioning phase, said 'she played you guys like a puppet'!! So true, so true.

BTW, I just heard on the news about an hour ago that she was released because she developed a 'rash'.

Money talks.

I heard she was out because she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Big fat hairy deal. She should have been released to the jail infirmary, then have her butt right back in the cell. The justice system in that county is a joke.

Hmm, I didn't know you could call in sick to jail.

She looked pretty healthy at the MTV award show.

Maybe the country should boycott Hilton hotels. When you stay there aren't you really supporting her lifestyle?

this is just a joke!!!!
I think as a parent we need to take control of what our kids are listening ,watching ,buying.....
this kinda cr** has to stop!!!!
Paris Hilton a role model? oh come on!!!!!who is their right mind would belive that!!!
what did she do? what did she accomplish? not a freaking thing!!!! she is a dumb brainless little twit.she really needed to have an education on etiquette,on a lifestyle. on a proper way to spend her life.
I really do not know who to blame: the media? her parents? teh parents of the teenage girls who take her as a role model? I really don't know.....

Lol

I Like how they said she was not released, she was reaSSigned. I want to be reassined to her home!!

Ughh the whole situation is disgusting.

Wow, drinking and driving was just made to look ok by her/and the justice system. I know a few people in our community who have lost children due to a DRUNK (and thats what she is) on the road...sort of a slap in the face to people who have lost loved ones from drinking and driving.
Yes I know she got sent to jail for driving with a suspended licence but the original problem was that she was speeding and deiving drunk.

UGhh.

My 14 year old daughter thinks she is trash, and I asked her what her friends thought of her, she looked at me funny and said "your kidding right?", "no one i know likes her or thinks she is cool, mostly people think she is a joke and not a funny one."

Also read that she has NO restrictions on alcohol or who can visit her now. So basically she's been released to a jail sentence that many of us would consider a vacation! I certainly hope the judge that sentenced her steps up and stops this foolishness. He said no furloughs, no early releases -- what the heck is this?

This is just plain WRONG! Money talks as they say. If any other inmate were refusing to eat or sleep they wouldn't be paid any attention too but because she's "paris"....as for her not eating...are we sure she eats anyway??? Okay, bad joke but I'm ticked off. No wonder our youth is going to hell in a handbasket as my grandma would say. If you can say "I'm sick" and get out of jail. Heck, I remember when Robert Downey Jr was allowed out of jail to film Ally McBeal and then go back to jail. Uh, does EVERYONE get to get out of jail to go work and then go back to jail? I don't think so. It wasn't a work release program. Just system.

I am wondering why the MADD (mothers against drunk driving) folks aren't all up in arms picketing or something about this. It's insane and they aren't there to say "hey, this is wrong!". I know I've seen them do stuff before. Just seems like this would be up their alley.

No doubt! I think a more fitting punishment would be to have the other inmates have "home arrest" in Paris's home with her so they can see how hard it is to stay at home LOL

I heard on TV today that the judge that "transferred" her, is not the same judge that sentenced her. I'm sure if I have that wrong, someone more "in the know" will correct me.

Thankfully my DDs do not think she is any type of role model, nor do they admire any of her skanky cohorts.....Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie, etc. But, as long as they "sell" and have a following, this will be allowed. Very sad.

Refusing to sleep??? I doubt it. She's used to partying all night anyway. She makes me sick.

because of her life style not being able to shop or go clubing is a bad punishmeny. I dont blame her its her parents and the system that has to take the blame. Shes famous from the media doing a job on her. Other rich girls dont go through this. The media made her their job. Just shut her out.

Oh bull sh**! These girls are media ######. They loved the attention, and then cry when they can't get any privacy. They choose to live their lives in the public eye. Give me a break

Sorry if I misunderstood the intent of your post. I read it as that she didn't have the responsiblity for her behavior, it was all because she was a "poor little rich girl".
