My dad told me about that this morning. I purchased ground beef from Walmart on Thursday. I just checked the types that were recalled and that's not what I have but now I'm almost too paranoid to eat it. It's not worth my family getting sick over $3 pack of ground beef. I think the ones recalled were the angus patties and the larger packs of ground beef that say 73/27. Mine is just a 1 lb. pack that says 80/20 on it. Would any of you eat the meat I have since it's not on the recall list? Too close for comfort for me, lol!

Thanks for the link with the details. I didn't even know Tyson produced ground beef I thought they only processed chicken products. DH heard something about this on the news this morning, but didn't get any details. I was concerned since we do live in one of the affected states. However, I don't buy meat at Walmart so we are safe THIS TIME. All this reacall stuff is getting a bit much, I don't ever remember this many different items being recalled so close together.

Tyson produces beef, pork and chicken. This is taken from the sight:

Consumers are reminded that thorough cooking kills harmful bacteria, including E. coli O157:H7. Consumers should only eat ground beef that has been cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F.

I really don't see a problem with any beef that was purchased that isn't included in the recall.

Personally, I wouldn't eat any beef, pork, chicken, etc... from Walmart stores. What they do to preserve their meat is awful.

One more reason I refuse to shop there.

I don't eat any meat from Walmart unless it's something prepackaged from another company, like a whole turkey or sandwich meat or something like that. I don't like the idea that all their meat has an "added solution" to it for whatever reason they add it, I won't eat it.
