I took it a couple of years ago. I really don't know if I lost from the pill or by eating right and exercising, as I started them all at the same time. As for the side effects I had no side effects at all. Although, it makes since that if you eat a fatty diet and take this pill well the fat is going to come out some way.

I have heard that since this is half the mg's of the prescription xenical that the side effects were a lot less just for that fact alone.

I also am considering giving it another try.

My girlfriend tried this years ago when it was Zenacal. I don't remember her having any serious side effects. I'm actually looking forward to trying it this week. I am not one of those who jumps on every bandwagon out there either. I've only ever done Weight Watchers and about 4 years ago I took Meridia which was a prescription. I lost 20 pounds the first month and then NOTHING. I tried about 2 years later and still didn't loose any weight.

It's expensive, but CVS is giving $10 in ECB's if you spend $40 on any diet supplment, hoping that Alli is included

MyTime,
Can you please share how much you lost? Did you notice a faster weight loss? Did it really increase the amount you lost?

I am currently on a low fat diet and I'm back on the treadmill. I'm considering trying alli too. It's available for preorder at Amazon.

I lost 32lbs in 3 months. It did seem to come off quicker. But 32lbs isn't much more than what you "suppose" to lose in 3 months time. (Doc's say to lose 2lbs a week so that would be what, 24lbs in 3 months.)

Your doing exactly what I was doing I was walking on the treadmill and eating a very low fat.

I might actaully try it too, I haven't tried anything in years. It's good to hear, not everyone has those side effects. I think it depends on what you eat, the more fat, the more that has to come out.

I was hoping someone would post about this. I am thinking of giving it a try too, but it is kind of expensive. I guess that you can find it on-line pretty cheap, but I'll check it out in a few days. My DB called me and said that he was going to try it too. I need to lose about 10-15 lbs so hopefully this will get me on the right track.

Am I the only one that thinks that anal leakage would be more of an inconvenience then doing something like counting calories and fat grams?? I don't want to spend all day in the bathroom either.

It just doesn't sound right. Wouldn't this be along the same lines as a laxative??

I have IBS and see the bathroom way too much as it is. Since THAT is a side effect, I don't think I'm gonna be taking this.

Nah.

I'm doing pretty good on the 3 Hour Diet that was suggested on the boards a few weeks ago!!! although I had to up it to 1800 calories a day for me -- I'm just too active for 1450 calories! Nice thing is I can eat anything that I want as long as I follow the simple guidelines:

1) Eat within 1 hour of rising in the morning.
2) Eat every three hours.
3) Stop eating three hours before bedtime.

Daily (I eat at 6AM, 9AM, 12NOON, 3PM, and 6PM:
Breakfast = 400 calories
Snack A = 100 calories (I do 200)
Lunch = 400 calories
Snack B = 100 calories (I do 200)
Dinner = 400 calories (I do 600)
Treat = 50 calories (I skip this)

Flaxseed daily.
If you weigh more than 200 pounds you up your snack size to 200 if 200-249 lbs, 300 if 250-299 lbs, and 400 if 300+ lbs.
If you weigh less than 150 pounds and under 5'3", you cut breakfast in half.

I checked out the book at the library and up above is all that you need to know from the book... Heh.

How do you take/eat the flaxseed? And how much? Does it depend on the size of the person or not?

Thanks

I'm a nurse, so I'll give my opinion that I've heard doctors telling our patients.

As soon as you stop this product, the weight WILL come back.

Thanks

I do a tablespoon a day = 50 calories. I buy the seeds in the bulk section at the supermarket. I grind them up (in an old coffee grinder that I already had) and pour it over my morning oatmeal.

The book does not specify an amount.

HTH.

By the way, it will be interesting to hear how the Alli works. I just don't believe in miracle drugs for anything... Sadly, but I feel pretty strongly about it.

Agreed, Cuthie. There just doesn't seem to be a magic pill. Lifestyle diet and exercise changes are the true key to healthy living and long-term weight loss (however unfortunate that is for us carboholics and junk food junkies! )
