I was worried about the fees associated with downloading tones from a site other than my Cingular site. So where are you all finding these great songs and how expensive were they?

I get all my "songs" from Itunes, but the kids haven't shown me how to make the ringtones yet...(I'm a little technology challenged LOL)

They use Limewire alot, but don't want me getting songs from their on my laptop, cause I might get a virus on the computer.

I have Virgin Mobile. Each ringtone costs between $2 and $3. I don't buy ringtones very often. Normally I have to ponder over them for a long time and listen to them a few times before I decide if I want them.

The "Cars" ringtone I just love. It is my perky, bright ringtone.

The "Flower Waltz" is my winter ringtone. Very elegant and classy.

I also have "Soul Bossa Nova" (Austin Powers Theme), "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)", "Lovefool" downloaded. I love the "Lovefool" ringtone. It sounds really neat. The "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" ringtone was pretty disappointing. It is the actual song instead of just sound (I prefer the sound, not the songs - I think it is poly-something...), and sounds all muffled. The Austin Powers song is just way too common.

I just get mine from Cingular......DH and tried getting some from another site once, it turned into such a headache we never tried again.....We don't get them very often so 2.49 doesn't seem so bad.....

I use freeringers.net The tones that are there are polyphonic, but they have a program that you can make your own real music ringtones. There is a one time fee to use their site, but it's been well worth it!

I get mine from cingular.......but, everytime aol put there free ringtone up I always get those.

I get mine from Cingular too.

DH uploaded a bunch of tones and claxons onto his phone, mostly from dispatch tapes and Emergency. I've got MP3's on my phone, but am still sorting out how to use them as ring tones. My guess is it involved changing file formats.
