Spinoff... ONE Salary or TWO Salaries???

The thread on household incomes made me wonder if a lot of our My Coupons community have one salary or two salaries (or more!)???

I know that a lot has to do with where we live... cost of living... etc.

I just think it is interesting! This is a private poll. No one will know how you vote.

one here, and part time at that. My hubby works average of 33hrs a week. Just enough to keep insurances up.

We have 2 salaries. If I didn't work, we couldn't afford to live in our log cabin and we couldn't have our 'toys' and both of our vehicles. I don't mind working really, keeps me out of trouble (mostly )!!!

One salary here...Our bills are paid every month and we live comfortably...I chose to give up the toys to be able to stay home with our three children...And I don't regret one minute of it...Although someday I would still love to have another Caddy! ~Lisa

It depends. DH pulls in one full time salary. I have three part time jobs, dd has two and ds has two.

We currently have one salary. Sparky works and I am in school full time. Next May I will be graduating and hopefully gainfully employed in the near future.

We are planning on keeping our finances exactly how they are now and using my income to boost our retirement savings and to help our eldest out when he enters college in two years.

DH works full time and I am a SAHM. I do Ebay on the side so I don't consider it an "income" because we don't depend on the money from that for anything. I do more in the winter, but don't really do much in the summer months.

(Yes I understand it's income, but it's not a regular job with a weekly paycheck.)

Only 1 income here.

I am considering getting a job now that the boys are 16 & 12, although I'm sure it won't be much as I have never had a job. (Except for working as a paid moderator here.)

I was wondering the same thing, with all those 100k+ votes

I've been a SAHM for 9 years now, hoping to go to school in a year or two and after graduating, hopefully I'll find a job lol (kind of nervous about it, haven't worked in so long and never made much!)

It was one before DH retired.

I worked fulltime and my dh is on disability. Does that count as two? He would be working fulltime but he got sick and can't work.

I put that we have 1 salary because thats the one that comes in every two weeks. However I do clean corporate apartments in my "spare" time but, its nothing regular when I get the check its like "oh yeah I did make some extra cash" we usually just blow it on fun stuff.

Two incomes in our home, both from DH.
Sometimes more.
DH is "on call" at one place, usually only goes in 2-3 times a year.
He also checks on and does small things at a closed factory.
He had a full time job but just quit.
He also gets SS.
I will start getting SS next month.
Sometimes I baby sit a bit.
And we are still always broke!!!

Two here but we could easily live off DH's. I'm an RN and only work a day a week. I actually LOVE what I do. My paycheck gets dumped right into a credit union in our home town. Out of sight, out of mind. LOL!

Talking

Two salaries.......... and both are mine. LOL Just got a real job working for the USPS so I'm cutting down big time working at Target. Just going to work enough there to keep my discount. It'll be nice to get a discount and actually have money to buy stuff.

I said 1 salary. I work part time but my income is only 6% of our total household income. I think that is close enough to qualify as a 1 income family.

I said one because it's DH's money that pays the bills, etc. I do work from home (online business) BUT it doesn't pay our bills. Most of the money goes right back into the business so I don't count it as a "salary". Especially since it can be decent or nothing

We have 2 incomes only because my husband retired from one law enforcement and went to work for another. He gets retirement income from the first job. I know sometimes it is impossible to live on one salary. But we have before just have to give up the small stuff for the much bigger things my family. You never get that time back. You can always work you only have one chance at your kids.
