Three years ago we gave our van to our daughter and her DH and told them that the transmission was giving us trouble so they could have the van for nothing but would soon have to get a new tansmission.
The darn thing still hasn't had to have the transmission replaced!

Yesterday our new van started having some transmission problems also!
Last night on the way to a dance we had gotten 10 miles down the expressway when the dash light came on about the transmission. We turned around and came back home, barely making it, and not making it to the top of our driveway.

We are (well were, now) leaving for a vacation on Sunday (tomorrow)!!!
We can't even talk to anyone about getting it fixed until Monday!
We hope to get it repaired ASAP and still be able to enjoy a shortened trip.

anyway to put it off and just rent a car and worry about the transmission after you get back?
