Sort of round-about. My parents were always a PC family. My brother ended up getting his own computer for a while. After it crashed, he decided to try a MAC. He LOVES it. A laptop no less, so he can always be mobile. It's a sweet little piece of machinery, I'll admit that.

He says he'd never go back to a PC if he can help it.

He's not the first person I've heard say that, but he's the most recent - within a year.

My parents have a Mac and a PC and they are always fighting over who gets to use the Mac. They love it and have had a lot less problems with it then with the PC......but my parents have always had apples, even when they weren't popular, and only got the PC because some of the programs they use for school were not Mac compatible......HTH

Hi Ann,

Our Dell is on it's last leg. We will be getting a Mac Laptop. DH bought himself one back in April and loves it. I'm not a computer person so I can't give you details about the system, but it does have cool features. lol

Mac users are fanatics and will defend to their deaths the fact that Apple makes the superior system. With my personal experience with both, Macs definitely have better features and are for sure asically non-hackable. If you are a techno type person, then Mac is definitely the better option for you and their innovations are copied everywhere. But, if you are just your everyday user and cannot afford the extra $$$ that Mac costs (Mac users/lovers will say they are way more than worth it), then a PC is probably good enough.

Well, you can tell by my avatar how I feel. I was a death grip PC user until I actually had to start using Macs at my job where I'm the technology specialist. I'm now pretty much exclusively Mac, I almost cringe when I have to use the PC even at home where we have 3 PC's and one MacBook Pro lapotp.

My husband says I love my Macbook Pro more than him. ......shhhhh I do.....LOL

At any rate, the new Intel based Mac will even run Windows too. Not at the same time, but if you have those one or two Windows applications that you can't live without, you can still use them. Go for it...you won't be sorry.

I had to use a mac @ work and now @ school if I forget my laptop. I hate it. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate how there's no right click on the mouse. I can't ever find anything on it. I'm a PC woman through and through.

WEll, it finally came today, and we just love it. Everything is so colorful on the screen. We got an I-mac, and there is no tower or speakers (external ones you need to find a space for) It's just a big flat screen, TOO COOL!!!! We also got a FREE I-POD and FAR printer. WOO HOO!!!

Thanks for all the input.

We actually went with the 30G (??) for $249, and $225 rebate I believe. It is available to students, 2 per year, one for a desk top, and one for a lap top, in case anyone else is interested.
