what is the dumbest thing you did after you broke up with an ex ? I remember driving by his apt after I got off work ( at 10 pm!) and seeing his car in the parking lot. sigh...how about you ?

I did almost the same thing. One of my ex's hung out at a bar and I would wait in a parking area that was on his way home to see when he came home if he did. It sounds so stupid now, I know he knew it was my car and it was just childish. I was only 19.

believed any line of bs he told me....he was such a liar and I was so naive! He was 19 & I was 20.

He went to CA with a friend to stay for awhile. Then he called me and told me he'd spent all his money and in order to come back I had to wire him $250 or he'd have to get a job and stay there. I wanted him home so badly, I sent him the money. Well, he just wanted more money to party out there. He came home when he was good and ready.

You know that Garth Brooks song, "Thank God for Unanswered Prayers"...so fitting!

I don't think I ever did anything really dumb but a friend of mine caught her fiance at his apartment in a compromising situation with another girl and she doused the hood of the girl's car in lighter fluid and set it on fire! It just sort of flamed up and went back out but I think it was only after it was over that she realized how stupid (and criminal) that was!!!

I have never had an ex husband but when I broke up with the boyfriend I had before I met hubby, I destroyed everything that I owned that had anything to do with our relationship. I regret that now. It was a part of my life and we were together my whole senior year. I would love to have some of that stuff back to remember my senior year and our relationship.

I bet I have the dumbest yet. I left him after I figured out that he was using me and my paycheck. A few years later (and I was married to someone else at the time) he came to me claiming to be destitute. My dh gave him some odd jobs around the house but he said he needed more. Some how we got to talking about my high school year books and if they were worth anything, I had gone to school with a famous baseball player. Well the next day he came to me and said he could get $300 for my yearbooks..... Yes, I let him have them to sell. I could kick myself over and over agan for that.

When my ex left me I wrote him letters telling him how much I loved him. I heard it through the grapevine that he and his new girlfriend had a good laugh over those letters. I'll never put my feelings down on paper again.

it wasnt really a dumb thing, more of a revenge thing. He broke into my house while I was at work one nite and took all my living room funiture. I knew where he was living and heard though the grapevine that he and his new girlfriend was going to the beach one weekend. I also knew he never locked doors when he was with me . sooo on a hunch, i went to the trailor that they were renting late friday and just tried the door know. opened right up. a little mouthy dog came barrelling into the living room barking his head off. so i went to the fridge and got him a few hots dogs out and he shut up. there was my living room funiture! But Icouldnt take it cause I didnt ahve a truck and I was also in someones home who didnt know I was there nor did want me there. So I picked up the phone and called directory assistance and got the time and temp for syrcuse n.y where he was raised. Called that time and temp number and laid the phone off the hook and left. I went back by there late sunday nite and they still wasnt home. They didnt come back till the following tues. all the time, his phone, lying on MY recliner, listening to time and temp some 700 miles away.
he got the phone bill a month later and blew up. called he raising hell but he had no proof it was me. I laughted at him and hung up.
last time I heard from him, he was in jail. seems he and one of his wives ( hes been married 6 times I know of) had rented a house and decided to burn it down for the insurance. Number 1: they didnt have rental insurance and was stupid enought to think the insurance the landlord had would pay them and number 2: they both got caught for arson. matching cells they have now. lol

Mine wasn't Dumb Per Sa, But for revenge. I had been dating this Man for nearly 7 months I never knew till 6 months into the relationship he also had a "Girlfriend"on the side.Once I found out about her I tried to break it off, but by then I was really over the hill for him. Before he would come see my at my apt, I guess he would be with her 1st. Because I found cig packages in the passage's of the truck he had.This went on for about 2 weeks. Finally I got the nerve up to just call him at home and tell him it was over. Sam worked for a MAJOR Company and he worked swing shift most of the time. Well I called his apt and OMG that HEIFER answered the phone. I was so PO'ed !! But kept my cool
( can you believe that lol ) I told her you know you can have him I'm SO done. well he had told her weeks before it was over between us and he told me the same about her.( Yet I found Packs of empty cigs in his truck YEAH RIGHT )... About that time my phone beeped and yep you guessed it it was him calling me on his dinner break. I talked to him about 2 mins made an excuse and hung up welll I be damned if he didnt call his house on SECS after we hung up from each other. I waited till she talked to him, Long story short. I drove over to his apt so we could BOTH call him instead of him calling us. When he got off work at 3:30 AM and came home there we both sat in his apt LOL. Needless to say all hell broke lose that Morning. As me and Sam fought out side his apt I told Belinda not to come out the door. She didnt believe me so she open the door to come outside I pushed her back in and warned her again not to come outside. She didnt listen to me so when she tried it again I hit her so hard she flew back inside and knocked over a dinning room table. I slammed the door shut and we went at it again, about that time Sam called me a Not so nice name and I slapped him in the face. Not knowing across the street sat 2 police. They both turned their blue lights on and drove over, told me I would be arrested if they pressed charges on them. ( Think they both knew better to do that 1 LOL ).. any hoot Sam told them all was OK and finally they left. I called Sam every name in the book, Slapped him again and left. Well. I wasn't quite over this so I wanted him to PAY for what he had done and lied about to me for 7 months !!. I I drove to a all night truck stop, went inside got the diesel heavy duty motor oil and a can of break fluid. Went back to his apt about 5:30 Knowing they would be sleeping. Poured the motor oil all in the inside of that BRAND NEW WHITE Truck of his and wrote the words Wh*re Dog on the hood of his truck... I left and never spoken to him again till 5 years later when I ran into him at the movie rental place, He told me he had the truck painted 2 times and the words kept eating Thu again ROFL !! He also told me it took him nearly 3 weeks to clean up all the motor oil from the inside of that truck. I never did tell him I was the one that did it ( Sure he knew LOL )...{BTW}The Motor oil came in a gallon size jug ...We said I hello's and goodbyes I never saw him again after that day.
Serves him right for two timing me and being as old as he was He was in his 30's I was in my mid 20's way too old to be acting like a dog in heat at his age LOL...
Man that brought back some good N bad times of my dating years LOL

I only did dumb stuff from the first one, I did that "driving by looking for vehicle" thing, went to his house (he was 26 and still living with his parents )... but the dumbest thing was when he wrote me a letter (we lived in the same area and he broke up with me thru the mail too...) and wanted me to come visit him at work sometime. So I did. Turns out he just wanted........ yeah. Said he wasn't ready to get back together but could we....... Never spoke to him since, though I did run into him a couple times. Now I've been in contact with his best friend from back then, he says they don't talk, and told me some stories! Like the ex was dating a "woman" from another town who got arrested for fraud or something... and wasn't a woman.... and that he'd been seen with a man in his truck outside of his job. Now this guy was the BIGGEST homophobe I'd ever met, when we dated.. so I got a big laugh out of that

ETA: Yeah I cried for a week or two, but what helped a LOT was when my mother said, he's single for a reason! Once or twice when I saw him, he was with another girl, and her DAD was there, I chatted with him lol... and he said his daughter was wanting to get married so I let him know what had happened and that he'd told a mutual friend that he's NEVER getting married!

I am literally LMAO right now !!! Serves him right, lol.

I've done several of the things on this list when I was very young. Just sooooo glad that I didn't get pregnant! Waited to do that when I was 30.

I smashed a guys ring with a hammer once & threw it in the sewer. Other than that it was probably calling or driving by a guys house after we broke up I used to call & chase them for probably a few days after we broke up sometimes it was even me who did the dumping & I would still chase them around. I guess I just couldnt let go.
