DH has a good idea to sell firewood....just wondering if anyone else sells firewood for extra cash or even for a living? What are the ups and downs? Also, what is a cord of wood going for in your state?

I don't sell firewood, but we bought a boatload of it this past winter. In east Tx we paid $150/cord for delivered firewood.

We have sold it before. We heat with it and have had extra and sold it. Around here, different types of wood sells for different prices. Hards sell for Higher prices and we have even sold Hickory in the summer for the grills.

Maybe you can look in the yellow pages and call up one of the local firewood sellers. We have three listed in our book under 'firewood'. Ask them how much they charge (as if you are an interested customer .. although they might be suspicious if you call in June!!!)... Then sell at a comparable amount.

It has been awhile since we've bought firewood but it was in the range that was mentioned up above and that was about 10 years ago in southern Arizona.
