I am so pissed off at the streets division in the town I work in. I have called them for the LAST 6 YEARS trying to (make that begged and pleaded) get them to fill the many potholes in our street. (you have to be quite the navigator to get around all the holes, which is IMPOSSIBLE fyi) They did come 1 time to fix it (2-3 years ago), all they did was cold patch it. Well, the city trucks go up and down this road all day long, meaning their 'fix' lasted all of 3 days. I have talked to the guys at the streets division, the supervisor of said guys, even the Mayor's office. The lady I spoke with at the Mayor's said to write a letter to the head supervisor of the streets division and to our councilman (who happens to live JUST UP THE ROAD from where I work....and if he doesn't know the horrid condition of this road he is totally BLIND) which I have done and still nothing. I am sick of driving down pothole alley just to get to my office. Not to mention is can't be good for our vehicles! Plus the road floods every time it rains. There are old railroad tracks that haven't been used in eons, get rid of them! Plus clean out the dang drains so the road won't flood anymore. I swear they are total idiots...oh yeah, these are the same street guys who DIDN'T take care of the roads this past winter (and some of these guys have been on the job for 20-30 YEARS) when I had my accident on a bridge that could have been WAY worse than it was. Sorry this is so long, I'm just at my wit's end......

So who do I call now? Any ideas?

the editor of the paper?
your local news station?
find out where your mayor hangs out with the little people and approach him personally?
It's an election year so by calling this to their attention it may affect the campaign. I know when one of our mayors wanted to get elected...he had road crews on call 24/7 promising to fill the potholes within three hours of the complaint. It worked well enough he was elected for another term.

Take pictures and videos, if you have the means, so you can show what you mean to the people you're complaining to. Somehow, those seem to do a lot more than words with a lot of people.

My boss (the owner of the company) sent pictures to the Mayor directly a couple of years ago. Nothing. I sent pictures along with my letters I sent out, nothing. So I did some digging and got our councilman's cell number. I called yesterday and he called me back within 10 minutes! (was in total shock!) He said after he got my letter, he contacted the streets dept and was told that they would come out and check things out and fix it. Well, I told him no one came out so he told me he and the other guy I sent the letter to will be at my office this morning to look at the roads. Like what emie79 said, being an election year I hope to finally get some results.
