Is there a FUN way for kids to memorize multiplication facts?

Do any of you have any tried and true fun ways for kids to memorize multiplication facts? Flash card games, etc?

Thanks.

My DD learned the hand trick for 9

OK.. lay both hands out with fingers fanned.

Let's do 9x6..

Put down your 6th finger.. (this would be the thumb on your right hand)

Look at your fingers.. how many do you have before the bent finger? (5)
How many after? (4)

Answer: 54

For 9x4 you would put down your 4th finger.. you get the idea.

We just do them over and over.. mainly in the car.

It's funny, 'cause I think my 5 year old knows them all now too.

Wow, you all have some great ideas. My poor child had to do it the hard way, LOL. We just kept saying them over and over and then I tested her on paper, a few at a time, in order and then eventually up to 12 not in order. They also worked on them in class but I'm not sure what techniques, if any were used. The teacher "time tested" 1 number at a time. They had to get them all right before they moved on to the next number. DD made it through 9's, knows her 10's and 11's and now needs to learn 12's over the summer. I'm not sure what 4th grade brings in the way of multiplication. Anything? Or do they start on division?

We played a made-up game called "Stump the Math Master" when riding in the car during the time when they were learning this stuff. Mom & Dad would come up with facts or equations or story problems that the Math Master would have to solve. I don't know why, but they both liked it, and it was a good way to add value to car rides and prvent bickering at the same time.

I have a cassette (yeah no cd's back then when I was in 3rd grade) with the multiple tables. On one side it says the tables with the answers and on the other you have to shout the answer. I think it's cool because the music in the backround is a nice melody.
