2 or 3 missed periods per year is no cause for alarm. I would be concerned with her "regular cycle" being 40 days though. What did her Dr. Say about the missed periods and cycle length? Over-exercise, among many other things can cause missed periods, but you should call the Dr. just to be sure. |

I know I wasnt regular until I was much older I was also in sports when I was younger & alot of times wouldnt get it for months so I think shes normal but if you are concerned talk to her dr never hurts to be safer

I know when I was invovled in sports in high school my period was always wacky..... I had a period maybe 3 times a year. My mom took me to the Doctor every 6 months, so they could make sure everything was ok.......My best advice to you, is that if this worries you at all, call you Dr. Every person is different.
