What time is too late to call you? Or too early?

I just tried to call my DH's aunt and she didn't answer the phone, I was wondering if it was too late to call someone? 8:00?

I am up until 12:00 and people know they can call me at all hours, it's the only time I get peace and quite to talk without the kids needing attention. And we get up at 6:00, so anytime in the AM is usually fine too for me.

How late is too late to call?

Or too early?

Not after 9 pm and not before 8 am. I have a toddler and a disabled teen who both go to bed around 9 and I hate when the phone wakes them up.

Any time at all. I won't be as chatty at 4am as I will at 9am, but I am usually up and about until at least 1am. My kids could sleep through a band playing so I'm not worried about them waking up.

10:00pm for regular people, any time for close friends and family members having a crisis. Not before 8:00am in the morning.

I have always told the kids that nobody is suppose to call on the house phone after 10pm. DH has to get up for work at 4am so that is the limit. I let them call out as long as the people they are calling KNOW they can not call here. On thier cell phones I always told them on school nights not after 11. Of course they did not listen. Now they are all 18 and over. So as long as it is on thier cell phones and they can get up for work or college classes if they have early ones I dont care, as long as they dont bother us.
In the morning I dont mind calling from 6am on.

I'm like Carrie. I hardly sleep, I get a few hours a night if I'm lucky. I usually manage to get in bed around 3am and up at 6:30. So no calls between those hours.

People can call until 12:00 unless it's an emergency, then, anytime. Not before 7:00 AM during the week and not before 10:00 AM on the weekends

I don't answer the phone before 9AM, prefer 10AM and 11PM is okay though it is rare to get a call after 9PM.

Me too. If the phone rings after 11 I freak and think someone is really hurt. DH is THE only one that can call after 10pm (he works late and sometimes calls when he is on his way home).

I usually won't call anyone (except my mom who is always up early) before 10am and never call after 9 unless it's family then 10pm.

Mornings, I guess 8:00 is fine.

I'm normally up until at least 2 or 3 am (even though it's 4:20 am right now and I'm still awake), and I don't mind if friends/family call me that late. It doesn't really matter how early someone calls me either, although, I might not be awake to answer the phone until around 9 or 10 am most mornings.

Calls between 9 am and 9 pm are fine. That's how I was raised, anyway. I'm actually up before 5 am most days, so the early calls don't really bother me. You'll get an earfull if you call our house after 9 pm, though. I think it's incredibly rude to call after then unless it's an emergency.

Like truble2301, the phone is open from 9am-9pm, emergencies or phone calls from my troops in the middle east thereafter.

9pm -- 8am

We live in Mountain Standard time zone and have a lot of family friends in the east (which is 2-3 hours later for most of the year).

Same here. I'm up early, but I don't call anyone else's home until after 9:00 a.m. DS had several girls calling recently who had to be schooled on my 9:00 p.m. rule!

I don't like to receive phone calls prior to 8 AM. (The exception being during the school year when we have a snow day, that way I can stay in bed and not get up for school / work)

I don't like anyone calling the house after 9 PM. It is not uncommon for all of us to be in bed by 9:30

My kids can't get phone calls after 8:30.....and as a general rule I don't make phone calls after 9pm or before 9am. Now with that said, since I have taken over our FRG and DH took Command our phone rings constantly all night long with this emergency or that emergency or soldier needing rides(better safe then sorry).....I'll be happy when his command is over and the phone doesn't ring in the middle of the night anymore....

same here, unless it's something urgent, then call anytime. I'm a bit more accepting of a pre 9am call if it's a friend or family member, but, when a business calls before 9am, I don't like it, and let them know. Also, we won't answer the phone from 5PM to around 6:30, that's dinner time, and we usually sit around the table catching up with each other, and discussing different things.

No calls before 8 am and no calls after 9pm, unless someone is bleeding. That being said, my good friends and family know that if they really need me, they are welcome to call any time of day. I would never not answer the phone to someone in need of an ear, even if I am sleeping.

no calls before 7:30 when school's in session (8 during the summer) and no calls after 9:00 all year long. If my mom needed to talk and called after 9 (which she does), it wouldn't be a big deal BUT I don't want everyone doing it all the time

No one calls on the regular phone after 8 usually. They know that the baby is in bed or in the process of going to bed and they don't want to wake her. I'm up by 7 every morning, so anytime after that is fine.

One time a girl at hubby's work called at 4:30 in the morning. I was pregnant w/Naysa. I thought for sure it was a call because something happened to someone. She called because when she got to work one of the machines in hubby's department flooded his area and the area she works in and she didn't know what to do. Never mind the fact that they have a maintenance guy. I was FURIOUS that she called that early and made sure that my MIL knew so that word would get out about NOT calling our house again at that time (MIL works where hubby does). Hubby gets calls all the time when his department needs something since he is a supervisor but they have never nor would they EVER call at 4:30 in the morning.

Hubby didn't mind one bit, though. He didn't think it was too early at all.

I'm a night owl, so my dad usually calls me around 10pm at night. I'd say 11 is probably the latest to call. However, if you call me before 9am, there had better be a dead body somewhere. LOL

You can call any time between 6:30am and 8pm. After hours, there had better be an emergency.

10 PM and I make it known that it had better be an emergency but I also get up at 4:45 am.

Call me as early as 8 am, I'm usually up and if I'm not I probably won't hear the phone or won't mind getting up.
