so I live in a subdivison in the mountains. not only on top of a mountain, but there are other mountains surrounding me, if that makes sense..so in other words, you drive thru my neighborhood and it is almost like a bowl..you have mountains all around.
There are 2 lots at the end of our street, and I use them to relieve my dog until someone buys the lot, then I will move on
yesterday I saw a couple and another man by one of the lots. They were talking and shaking hands, etc. The one man drove off, the couple stayed behind. I asked if they had bought the lot and they excitedly said yes...they were gonna build a nice house there.
now the problem is, this lot has been known to flood. Right now it looks nice and dry, and you would never guess it can flood on a mountaintop..but it does. On certain occassions...mostly in the summer with flash floods, the water rolls down the mountain. Last Aug it flooded that section of the subdivision . One of the neighbors up there had all her grass seed and mulch swept away. the water came up to her front steps.
so my thought was ? Should I have warned the young couple that it floods ? They had license plates of this state and no one from outside moves here...except me of course...LOL...so I am assuming they know this area of the state floods.
My reasoning for not speaking up is, everyone here is related to one another...EVERYONE. I am afraid I may step on toes and be ostrachized by making a claim..expecially if the area only floods once in a blue moon KWIM? I've only lived here for 18 months..
My house is currently for sale btw..I am moving to FL ..had enough of this town..so I also did not want the couple to think I was just saying that so they may want to buy my house...
