Do you play "the money game"?

Well, that's what I call it LOL

I transfer money into my ING account to earn as much interest I can before transferring it back to my checking so I can pay my credit card (which I pay in full each month).

I try to charge just about everything so I can earn cash back (this only works if you pay it off monthly though)

I once got an offer for 9 months zero interest and no fees to take up to $10K from my credit card so I took it, got a 6 month CD, then paid it off, took my interest and socked it away to earn more interest

I'm afraid to get audited beacause I have money transfers all over the place but I can explain them all.

Anyone else do this?

I pay credit cards straight from my ING savings! (I saw they now offer checking accounts but haven't signed up for one)

I think a lot of people do that with the 0% interest balance transfers, it's a good idea! Too nervous to try it out though.

I've never thought of doing that! Wow! It does sound like a game. Sort of like playing the stock market. I'm sure it could be a difficult thing to explain if you get audited but as long as you have paper copy and can explain the money being moved around, I'm sure you'd be okay.

I love my ING account. It is nice to have it be so accessible and earning such nice interest. I do have to be careful to keep enough in my regular checking for the house payment, etc. I suppose I could change all of that over to ING? I just really don't like having all of my eggs in one basket... KWIM?

Yeah, that's why I don't have checking at ING. My brother is my banker so it's a good excuse to see him when I bank His bank just doesn't have the great interest ING does. I didn't know you could do bill pay from ING Savings???? Or do you just have your ING account linked to your credit card for withdrawl? That makes more sense....might look into that too!

You can find the routing number somewhere in your account info, then you just use the account numbers assigned to each account! You can set up different savings accounts with them, just log in and then click on the "open an account" link.

I use ING for our property taxes monthly. I put the $800 a month in there and then every quarter I take it out and pay the town. I don't bother for the smaller bills though.

Before we moved here we lived in a typical 3 BR, 2 1/2 bath ranch in the same town and the taxes were almost $4,000, so that really isn't bad. This is almost twice as big as that and has more acres, so twice the bill. New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the country.

I didn't see what state you were in CJ?

I keep all my money that isn't invested in mutual funds in my money market until I have to pay the mortgage or other bills. So, in that sense I play the money game, I guess.

I also try to put as many things as I can on my credit card and then pay it off each money.
