throw out the window...

what tape or DVD did your toddler watch over and over and over and OVER to the point you wanted to throw it out the window !

It probably got to the point you could recite it in your sleep !

My kids are teens now..but they had a Barney tape they just went on and on with. I can still hear that big purple dinosaur..." ...and a kiss from me to you !"

When Brandon was little, he would watch this Blue's Clues episode over and over again-- I finally got rid of all his Blue's Clues tapes last month-- gave them to my sister! LOL

Barney, the Christmas one, not sure what the name is but it had a song in there called "Waiting for Santa". DH and I were just talking about this last night (we came across the movie) DH even knew the name of some of the kids in the tape, LOL. I don't think we will ever forget that, over and over and over again, all year long, had to be for a couple of years straight, LOL. This was quite a few years ago since youngest DD is now 11.

Star Wars. First I had to sit through them repeatedly with DH. Then it was dd's turn. Then it was ds's turn. Then they had to go and make 3 more movies --- which I have listened to repetedly over the last few years.

Better yet my ds knows all the lines to Sponge Bob the Movie and we have it on DVD so he plays some parts over and over and also freezes it for the pictures.

The Elmo Christmas one with Kelly Ripa. She watched it over and over for 3 days straight.

Another Barney family here. In fact, my 3rd child turned 17 the other day and the 18 and 19 year old were talking with us about it. We still laugh about it. In fact the 17 year old was ALL Barney- comforter, slippers, doll, pj's!!

Youngest DD is 10 and she loved Cathy from Barney and we watched them til we were sick of them. Especially with the older kids being that much older, they hated Barney and would try to sing the BAD Barney song!!! LOL

I guess we are the weird family. My kids movie was The Nightmare Before Christmas. My kids watched it so much they wore out the first tape and we had to go buy another and they wore it out too. A few years ago I bought it on DVD and it grew legs and walked out of my house. (I think my oldest adult dd helped it out) So I have bought ANOTHER one! LOL My kids also used to watch the Sing a Long tapes all the time. Currently I am raising my Granddaughter and her fav's on tivo are the Wiggles and the Doodlebops.

My son was addicted to a couple movies as he was growing up (he is 10 now).

The Wedding Singer
The Runaway Bride (as crazy as it sounds)

I have no idea why he liked those two movies so much, but he did.

Max & Ruby!!! My older kids were in love with Barney.....so my little ones have never been introduced to it, because I would not be able to take it. They watch Blues Clues, Little Einstein's and Dora too, but are addicted to Max & Ruby. I was so glad when they finally came out with some new episodes......When they play I have to put on my MP3 player so I can't hear it.

I didn't mind Max & Ruby at first, just after so many times they got old........and My middle DS loved them and now the littlest 2......they didn't make any new ones for such a long time, that they got annoying. I was always thankful my kids didn't like the teletubbies or Boohbah's, I don't think I could have handled that either.....

Hurmph...

Sara watched Teletubbies andElmo (Sesame St)

Caitlin wore out...

'They call him Kipper... Kipper the dog...' and Elmo.

Meghan refused Sesame St (kinda said...) and just tuned into Nick Jr. BIG blues clues... But now, its whatever her sisters watch (sigh)

Barney was banned and never allowed in my house from day one. The one that drove me nuts was Calliu (spelled wrong) on PBS. He always seemed to whine and the poor mom looked so worn out. Actually Weird Al does a Barney parody song that is wonderfully evil

Didn't toss any tapes but did ban a few shows from our house.

Teletubbies-the baby talk drove me nuts. Grandma bought DS a stuffed purple one that talked just because she knew they annoyed me so much (said it was pay backs ).

Barney-Enough said (although every time I hear barney it reminds me of thing a radio station did "We love Barney...In a box!" They actually had a barney bash, some idiots dressed up like barney and then people beat them with foam bats. My kids went through a stage where they kept singing "I hate you, you hate me, lets get together and kill barney, grab a big boulder, smack him in the head, now we know that barney's dead" There was more but I don’t' remember it.

Caillou- All that kid did was whine, couldn't stand it. Now we're blessed with a neighbor kid that acts way to much like him (he's getting really close to being banned too )

Ruby and Max- Max gets left out or blamed for everything, and Ruby whines, complains and is way to bossy.

I think that is one of lifes great mysteries. Like the Rugrats thing. There is always someone supposed to be watching them, yet they always get into trouble or end up outside. Alone. How does someone lose 4+ kids??? Especially babies in diapers??

My Kids are also asking how come Max & Ruby get to live by themselves and they don't....... I mean Grandma doesn't even live with them, but next door. Even Blue has more supervision with Steve or Joe!

How about shows that drive us crazy for older kids......like Drake & Josh!
