I feel bad for thinking this way, but..

We had these tickets to an event nearby..we weren't going to use them and I figured we would probably give them to someone. We get these free tickets every year, and I usually give them to someone, or else when we go (we also have tickets for ourselves) pick someone in line buying tickets and give to them..well there is a girl at work..her and husband really wanted to go..so I told her we could probably get her in free. I didn't tell her the deal that we have free tickets specifcally for this event, because I wanted to make sure that someone else more "hard up" didn't come along that we would rather give them to. This couple has no kids, are young, both work and make more money than they know what to do with..but she is a "friend" that listens to me a lot at work, I just feel like sometimes she doesn't think with some of the stuff she says, and does, and I get irritated, and often offended by her. Regardless since nothing else came up, I just gave her the tickets for this weekend. For some odd reason I then had the idea to check ebay to see if anyone was selling them, and sure enough they are. I could have easily gotten $100 off these tickets! I could kick myself now because we REALLY need the money since we are in the process of buying a house! This girl did not even act at all appreciative when I gave her the tickets..she is so unorganized she just shoved them in her bag, and will probably not end up going because of some reason (a reason for her would be it was too sunny so she HAD to go tanning-honestly). Hopefully God thinks I did a good thing though.

If she is the one selling them, that is morally wrong. Granted, you gave them to her and I suppose "legally" she's in the clear, but still wrong. Lesson learned, I guess.

No, sorry she is not going to sell them..I just had an after-thought right after I gave them to her that maybe I could have sold them (never thought of it before), and realized I could have...so for a second I regretted giving them to her.

Had to edit b/c you answered my question before my computer could post!! You are fast!

Seriously, just know you did a good deed and move on. If she still hasn't thanked you later and its bothering you, just don't give her anymore.

I really try to go out of my way to help ppl that are at least appreciative of what I can do for them..KWIM?? I, like you, don't expect undying gratitude til their death but, its nice to have a thank you. So I know what YOU mean!!

To be honest if she knew she could sell them, I am 100% positive she would, but I am not even going to say anything about that..

I really believe in Karma......so no good deed goes unrewarded! We have no control over what people do with things we give them, we can only hope for the best. It's great that you were trying to do something nice for somebody...not a lot of people in this world do that anymore......
