Dry cleaner wins in $54 million suit for pants

I LOVE IT !!, This man was just plain hateful for bringing this lawsuit up. what a WACKED OUT Judge.
I'm happy he has been ordered to pay them for thier legal cost. I think they should sue him for everythign he has put them thu. I also think he needs to be Eval'ed for mental stats.

What a Nut Job !!

Love it!! I wish they could turn around and sue him for emotional stress & etc! This judge obviuolsy intended to cause harm to their bussiness. He knew he wasn't entitle to what he was seeking! What a Jerk!!

So far the man has only been ordered to pay the court costs (just over $1,000) of the dry cleaner. A motion to recover their legal fees will be considered later.

In another link on that page it states he is not working and was drawing unemployment he has only 100-2 ,000 dollars in the bank due to a divorce he just went thu. SOUNDS LIKE A PERSONAL PROBLEM to me , This judge tried to use a '"Law"" in that state and he KNEW that this law wasn't meant for this in the way he was trying to use it. As a former Judge one would think he would be in a higher line of thinking when it came to wasting the courts time. I hope ( But they probably will not do it ) these people sue him for everything they are out in legal fees. I hope the courts grant the suit for recovery fees.

This is so sad a working family trying to make better of themselves gets sued for a lost pair of pants. Good grief !!.... Wonder what he would have done if they lost his whole suit ?? Demand they leave the country ???????????..

What a WASTE of money and court time.

I am glad that the judge's lawsuit was tossed out, I feel sorry for the dry cleaners... the follow up didn't appear on our local news (yet the original story did). I thought it was terrible that it was started against the company in the first place.

What a jack***!

I hope two things come out of this story. One, the judge will stay unemployed since no one will work with the assanine. Second, the dry cleaners actually gets more business or maybe a business offer over this mess.

Pure simple GREED!!

I think I read the pants were NEW pair that were in for alterations??

If so, how can he be so attatched to a new pair he hadn't worn??
They did offer to pay for new ones and he could/should have just got another pair just like them.

I am happy the cleaners won! I am sorry about the money wasted on the case!!

The problem is that ANYONE can sue for ANYTHING in this country. Doesn't mean that they will win...but in the meantime, frivolous and defamatory suits such as this can ruin a person, company or family. I heard that this family was seriously thinking of leaving the country because of this.
