I am getting together with a friend of mine for a ladies' night out. My DH suggested that we do this once a week during the summer -- he's such a sweetie.

The problem is, we don't know what to do (besides going to see "Knocked Up" at the movies).

What would you do if you could go out for 3-4 hours without the kids???

My friends & I get our nails or toes done together & then go out for a light dinner. Sometimes we just go to the mall & shop/window shop. THEY wanna go to a country western bar & dance, that may be next, I just have never been a "bar hopper".

Your so lucky...I dont have much luck with female friends. Though ladies night has been a long long time ago for me.. how about an afternoon of window/clothes shopping...trying new clothes on, getting a make-over somewhere.....

OR maybe go out dancing (like I did in my early 20's!!) You could go to a club, not to get drunk and pick up men, but just to DANCE DANCE DANCE!!!!

I'd like a ladies night in.......where I can just curl up in my jammies watch my favorite movie and make up a pitcher of Daquiries......and then sleep as late as I want......

My girlfriends and I LOVE Girls Night Out! Besides going to the movies together (which is awesome, and there are so many good movies out right now!), you can go to a wine tasting, maybe karaoke, shopping, how about a massage, or get your nails and toes done!

Mainly, my other Mommy friends and I love having a long dinner. Getting to eat a hot meal that I didn't cook is heavenly!!

I don't get girls night out because I don't have female friends around here When I go out with DH w/o kids or with our male friends, we go to happy hour, sit on the patio of downtown restaurant,eat, drink and people watch, play pool, movies, darts, wine tasting, gambling...

I don't like 'girly" activities like mani's or the like but a good massage...and then dinner?

We do a Rob your neighbor party! You get a bunch of woman together, everyone brings something good to eat, and whatever they want to drink....you bring three wrapped gifts (we usually spend about $5 a gift). Everyone starts out with two dice, you shake them and everytime you roll a *7*, you pick a wrapped gift from the middle of the table (you can pick more than one if you roll more than one 7 in a row) once the gifts are all gone, you take a break and drink/eat, then you set a timer for a half hour and start round two..Round two you do the exact same thing, only this time you steal a wrapped gift from one of your neighbors. When the timer goes off....you unwrap whatever gifts you have (if you are lucky enough to have any). But...don't get too comfortable with whatever treasures you have because then you take another drink/food break and prepare for the final round. Round three, you set the timer for a half hour once again, and this time you rob your neighbor of the unwrapped gifts. When the timer goes off for the final time.....you get whatever is in front of you. There have been many nights that I have gone home with nothing, but a huge smile on a face, a full stomach and great night spent with friends! We usually make sure that our husband are a phone call away, so that if we drink a little more than we should, we don't have to worry about driving home!

I haven't been out for awhile with the girls, but we'd do dinner, movies, go to a ceramic painting place, shopping of course, potlucks, comedy shows, theater..... the sky's the limit, but no CEC

During the summer a girlfriend and I get together in the evening (once a week) and just go to the local coffee shop for some quiet time and un-interrupted adult conversation. LOL!

During the school year, we get together (during the day) at either her house or mine and do crafting stuff together while the kids are in school (scrapbooking, cardmaking, etc...).

I think I'd take a couple of the nights and not go out with the girls - just go shopping by myself. I hate shopping with other people and I also love my peace and quiet...but that's just me.

Just don't go Thelma and Louise on us, Cuthie! LOL

We had a nice time; movie (we ate the entire bag of popcorn OURSELVES!!! without sharing!!!) and light dinner and then we did shop a little. That was the un-fun part of the evening to me. We ended up being gone 5 hours!!! and the time just flew by.

I am printing out these ideas... so thanks!

Next week, I think we are going to the casino to play nickel slots, as one of you suggested!

We do either dinner and Target or Target and Starbucks. Massages sound nice. Or pedicures.

We do wings!!
Tuesday nights are .40 cent wing nights at buffalo wild wings and they have some goooood wings...we just sit and yack for hours...

We have also been known to catch the dollar theater flick if things get boring.

And...sometimes we do bowling or mini golf. I know, sounds corny but it's a ton of fun! I don't even drink! (cause #1 I'm too cheap...and #2 I am pregnant)

We also go to the dance clubs and dance with each other...I have found that we have more fun at the "alternative lifestyle" dance bars instead of the "straight lifestyle" dance bars...there are too many creepy guys crawling the regular dance bars looking for a hook-up vs. the gay bars...they could care less if you are there just to dance with your girlfriends!! Plus, the club is much cleaner..haha My husband asked me one time why we go there and I say well, it's better than getting groped at the straight bars from a drunk guy who wants to score with a vulnerable housewife! He has never asked me again...and has given me his "blessing" to go out with the girls often!

Another fun thing is the comedy bars.

We also have done the dinner/target thing or the dinner/grocery shopping thing.

I have only ever been out to a "dance club" once in my life......My best friend and some of our other friends took me to their club........and it was nice because no one bothered me and we had a good time..after that club though they took me to a "normal" club, and their were sleazy guys all over the place and I was very uncomfortable. If I ever go out like that again, I would prefer to go their club again.....
