I saw this just a little bit ago... one of the sites I looked at said they'd missed some kind of family crisis counseling too...

I wonder what the .... is going on these days.. the pregnant woman murdered... the mom and kids killed in the van... man and kids found dead... THREE shootings in my area of town (since last Saturday), the latest one today killed a retired coach I knew from high school, at the Wal Mart really close to us (stray bullet)... now this.

How horrible, I'll have to let me husband know when he wakes up. It says that he cancelled his scheduled PPV event last night because of a family emergency, wonder what that was about.

Don't forget the young mom who hung herself and her three or four daughters. The little 10 month old (?) survived. This was in Texas, I think.

It's murder/suicide with Chris being the murderer. My son (22) wonders if he was on steroids. Good question. God rest their souls.

Oh this looks like it could work out to be a nasty one...killed himself a good time after killing the others. The world has gone mad!

Last night when my 21 year old boys told me I immediately thought about murder - suicide and said I feel bad about thinking that way, but my gut told me. It is insane how these kids watch this including mine with the Vince acting like he is dead and the ladies popping out all of the place with their clothes. It is not the wrestling I watched in the 70's.

Murder-suicide was also my first thought, with steroids involved.

We had a high school baseball player who took steroids and then killed himself - his father is now on a national campaign to make others aware that steroids can lead to depression.

it's been a major issue concerning high school athletes here in my area

All I can say is that at least he killed himself!!!

Last fall, a father killed his wife and 4 children and then went and sat on the porch all day (they were in the house dead) till he was arrested. I taught one of the children in gym class last year and I have no patience for this crap.

I have had to keep my mouth shut about this on the Wrestling message board I moderate as they just seem to want to pretend it didnt happen that its all a work etc. I am glad I have somewhere I can coem to say what I want.

Some of the people in the business that I know who also belong to said Message board have said in recent weeks Chris hadnt been himself that Tuesday at the ECW show he had an intensity a fire in his eyes they had never seen and it scared them. He sent weird text messages out Sunday Morning after no-showing Sturday nights House Show (non teleivised shows for those who arent familiar) and the PPV. IT wasnt until Monday when one of the people with WWE called Fayette County Police and asked them to do a Welfare check on the family and they KNEW Sunday morning by the text messages something wasnt right.

I hate WWE with all my being right now I really do, they did this fake Mr. MCMahon is ded angle and relagated the death of one of their own Sherri MArtel to the back gave her nothing really she was one of the women who brought female wrestling back to the forefront in the 1980's

The WWE people could have called the Police Sunday, could it have prevented what happened I dont know. I know this if as they are reporting Chris killed his family he is a coward as cowards kill 7 yr old children as Daniel was a mere 7 yrs old and that kid loved his Daddy looked up to him etc. His Wife was in the business years ago also.

I think this world has gone completely and utterly nuts, we had a murder in our complex the first week my DH was back to work after 3 months off on diability a 18 and 19 yr old were charged with it, still not 100% srue of why, but it was the first murder in our county for 2007, we just had our 4th yesterday and we didnt have that many this time last year.

They dont understand on that board why I cant and wont say RIP for Chris, I cant not until I know the truth and we are probably weeks from it if we ever get it.

My father had a saying he was fond in using and it fits this world is going to hell in a handbasket.

I know- aren't all the shootings crazy! I live behind one of the places and just can't believe it.

My dh met him in Iraq- with all of the other wrestlers. He said he seemed like a really nice guy. Think that there will be a lot more to this story.

Just read this on cnn.com

"A law enforcement official close to the investigation tells The Associated Press that pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself in his weight room."

Arrow yea

As most know, we are hardcore WWE wrestling fans. My boys loved him. I am having a tough time helping them understand this. My oldest cried for 3 hours last night...actually he cried himself to sleep only to wake up wanting to know more information. This is tough!

My DS has just been getting interested in wrestling the last couple of months. He is 7yrs old. I am sorry but I do not want him watching a "Tribute" to this guy, it is sickening. I know maybe steroids played a part in it BUT it was his choice to take them. Why would they pay tribute? I don't care who he was he murdered an innocent child and his mother. It is one thing to take your own life that is sad enough but A CHILD for petesakes. How many children out there looked up to this guy and now what?

That whole Vince McMahon crap is pretty disgusting too. Couldn't they come up with a better story line then that?

Maybe he was depressed, I understand all about depression but if there were people seeing that he was acting wierd someone should have looked into immediate help. Man this hits a sore spot with me because of close to home matters.

What kills me is all these fans with their RIP Chris. I simply do not understand that they do not realize that they are worshiping a murderer. To be honest, anyone who kills their family like that deserves to rot, not find peace. What's even sadder is supposedly there was counseling and other things available to him that he blew off. Instead of getting the help he needed, he chose to murder his family. It really sickens me to see all this RIP and our idol is gone "stuff" (trying to be polite here). What about what he did?

Lightbulb My thoughts

Per my above post, we are WWE fans. Now with that being said, of course we watched the tribute, BECAUSE at the time it was NOT released the cause of death. Now, today it has been released the cause of death and I am sick to my stomach.

So, please don't fault us Wrestling fans who watched it LAST NIGHT as it was NOT known that he was a murderer. It was only revealed that he passed away. I am sure that there's others like us who would NOT have watched a minute of it, having known what had happened.

*I also am sick of the 'blame' being placed on the steroids. I don't care if he was on Crack Cocaine or Steroids, he killed a child....HIS child and his wife. Purely disgusting no matter what excuse ya try to put it on.

So they are having a memorial service for a murderer. He murdered his wife and 7 year old child! Strangling and smothering aren't quick and easy ways to die. What a horrible thing to do to the two people whom you are to protect with your life. He only brought them pain and terror in their final moments of life and how do we reward him -- we memorialize him on television. I can only shake my head at the insanity of this decision.

I guess this is a good time to teach your son about steriods, etc.... My two sons (16 and 23) watched it growing up and I used to tell them how fake it was, that a lot of it is stagged, etc... It's pretty hard for little kids (and even some older ones) to distinguish what is reality. Maybe you should take him to some high school wrestling meets just so he knows what REAL wrestling is vs sport entertainment wrestling. Huge difference!
