Right now I'm mowing about every 4 days......Usually here in Texas this is a dry time of year and I could easily go a week and half, but we are getting so much rain that it looks horrible if I don't mow so often....

Used to cost me about 3 bucks to fill my gas can for the mower and that would last me 3 mows.....now it's costing about 7.39......

My dad comes by and mows it about once a week.....

Funny though my older brother lives out in the country and has a LARGE lot, he was talking to my dad about his "idea" buy a cow let it graze and then sell it come fall......that way he wouldn't have to cut the grass....LOL anyways, so he went to the local farm auction and realized right then that a cow costs A LOT of money and gas for the mower would be cheaper... oh gotta love my brother and his ideas (always trying to NOT work or save money)

I hear ya!! DH and I were talking the other day and this time last year he was mowing about every 2 wks. Now he's doing good to go 4-5 days inbetween mowings. Last week it rained at least some every day, two days it poured. DH needed to mow before it rained the first time and it was 4 days before he could mow. He raised the mower up, went over the lawn once, lowered it, went over again, lowered once more and went over the lawn one more time. Right now the lawn needs mowing and it was mowed Sunday. Of course, it's raining today with more forecast for tomorrow.

thankfully, our HOA does most of the landscaping, including mowing the yards.

That said, it is our responsibility to weedwhack. We have regressed!

We have a gas one that I refuse to put gas in, so we go out every couple weeks with scissors and whack it by hand...it's not very much, and it gets us out of the house.

We have a very tiny "lawn" and it's on the corner of a street..so people that walk by always cut the corner and walk on our lawn, so half of it is just dead grass..so we can get away with letting it go for about a week and a half.

I don't mow and my husband is living in another state, he's coming home this weekend but some guy knocked on my door asking if I wanted him to mow, so it's going to cost $40 next week (but the grass REALLY needs mowing... wonder if it'll choke his mower up lol)

DH is mowing about once a week. He mows 2 lawns, our house and our rental house that we own and decided not to rent out and use for storage instead. Both properties are 5 lots each. We have been getting a ton of rain so the grass is growing like crazy.

We have a tiny yard and cut it about every 5 - 7 days depending on the weather. I can usually cut the grass 4 or 5 times before I have to refill the gas tank on it. LOL!

Do you not like your son? Those old fashioned manpowered mowers aren't easy.

Same as usual, every 4 days. If it doesn't rain soon, I may never have to mow again!

It's not that hard! It certainly is not that difficult for a strapping young teen!

We have a reel mower. As long as the blades are sharp, the mower isn't that hard to use. I've also used one.
