Rosie O’Donnell shocked fans by posting a photo on her website of her four-year-old daughter, Vivienne Rose, wearing an ammunition belt.

The picture is published under a blog entry on rosie.com titled “a picture is worth a thousand posts,” and O'Donnell offers no further explanation. Presumably, the post is a political statement about war and guns destroying the lives of children around the world.

Fans responded by writing in messages of support as well as outrage. "


It was on there as the main picture until this morning. Now you click on 'dress up' and there's the complete pictures of it. Is there anything this woman won't do?

well she is doing it for press... as long as she is talked about (just like Paris hilton), that's good press.

I can't stand Rosie or Paris and would otherwise not even bother to follow their doings. I think they both have more money than they know what to do with and are not worth the money that they have.

I can't imagine putting your child in that "get up", at that young age, and trying to explain to them WHY you are doing that??? Why put something so mentally heavy on a child's mind??? That's what sickens me about that. She's free to do whatever on her blog, but,MG.....when you start dragging your young children into things......that's just not right!

I truly thinks she need some professional help. I feel sorry for her kids. I'm sure she loves them but I'm wondering about her parenting skills and if they have to listen to her rantings, etc.... What will they be saying to their therapist in about 20 year???? Scary.

I saw the photo and it sickened me. My dh was a career navy man and my boys brought up military. We would not allow them to wear full body ammo though! enough is enough. I believe Rosie needs a lot of help. I liked her at one point. I do wonder what her "wife" thinks about this ? She seems pretty level headed to me.

What I think is freakiest about Rosie's most recent stunt is that she's not even trying to act like it was something she "felt" she needed to do. She conveys her actions as having just been allowing the kid to play dressup.

Wow, what ever happened to all those Rosie defenders? She's a complete nut job and it's pretty sick what she does for attention. Guess if you don't have the talent, you have to resort to these type of antics. Hopefully she blew any chance of replacing Bob Barker. Whoever considers that replacement a good idea needs to be committed.

She said SHE turned down the Price is Right because she didn't want to uproot her family. Sounds to me like she was turned down and is now trying to save her pride. She had to know that she would have to film in California before she started *begging* for the job. She is a nutjob for sure.

Oh please tell me that they let Elizabeth have a field day with this one on The View. Maybe not, maybe the balance of the cast left on that show is too classy to pop up this little girls pic and slam her mom on TV.

WTF is she thinking?

I'm so sick of hearing about her...It seems she's always doing something to get attention...Now she's using her child to get it...I've heard of kids playing cops and robbers...but not "playing" war...especially when we're in one right now...I just can't imagine dressing my child up like this...even if the bullets are fake...Why doesn't she just have her dress up like Charlie Manson then? I mean, hey, it's only dress up...no harm in that, right? Baaawwwwhhhhhaaaa.... The woman needs help. ~Lisa

Do any of you read Rosie's blog? Why would these "news shows" go to her blog to get their stories? She took a picture of Vivi dressed up in a costume playing war with her brothers. Now it is everywhere, with people putting words in her mouth. I love Rosie and am glad that she gets people talking about important issues (not little girls playing dress up). Also Rosie took herself out of the running for TPIR because she was hoping that they could film it in New York. And if that was not possible she wanted to tape 4 shows a day which was also not possible.

I'm not sure if I understand this or not.....I saw the video on her blog, set to music. I am assuming she did that right??? There are words and everything that go with it. She's got issues when she drags her kids into this sort of thing. And, btw, that was quite some get up she had on for "dress up".
