I had a $50 off $250 Home Depot coupon that I didn't want to spend. Expiration June 30.

I went through Home Depot to look for someone who looked like they could use the coupon.

I saw two grounds workers wearing uniforms for the school district that my boys are in. They had two huge rolling carts that were already half full each... plants, lumber, etc.

I handed the coupon to them; no strings attached.

They said, "Thank You" and gave two enormous smiles that I can still picture in my mind.

Made my day as much as it made their day.

My friend has been going through a very bad divorce...She found out her husband was addicted to meth...She has two daughters...A very sad situation indeed as he's put the family at risk in so many ways...I've just been trying to be supportive and help her out as much as I can...She had to go on a business trip to CA today...I took her to the airport and also printed out some paperwork she needs from the mortgage company to refinance the house...I also gave her and the girls some food and toiletries from my stockpile...It makes me feel good to help someone as I'd hope someone would help me if I was ever in that situation...Please pray for this family. ~Lisa

I picked fresh green beans , squash and cukes outa our big garden and took to some of my clients who cant afford to buy fresh veggies. they are expensive around here since we have had no rain and everyones garden is drying up and my elderly clients need them and can not afford them thanks to the high prices of everything.. i will do this ever day until all the extras we planted is gone.

I've been at home most of the week getting things organized and cleaning out my closet. My girlfriend, who's a single mom and tight on money, needs some clothes for work, so I found a bunch of really cute outfits for her. I could sell them on ebay or consignment, but I know she needs them.

I purchased

books at a garage sale this morning for my son's teacher. He had her for K and will have her for first. She is wonderful and she's just getting started. I'm planning to collect a bunch throughout the summer.

Next week we are throwing a huge backyard carnival. Everyone is bringing food for the local Ronald McDonald House. (This is actually a good deed from my 5yr old. This is the 4th year my kids have given up their gifts to donate to charity.) They have already raised $30 to give from their lemonade stand as well.

I bought a dress and a few books from ebay. I have also had a long week so I decided to treat myself.

I bought lunch for a friend of mine. She struggles with being a single mom and full time college student.
She was going to go without eating and I couldnt have that.

nice gesture

I answered a free cycle post for someone wanting slacks. I had just "thinned" my closet and had a bag of slacks that I just did not wear anymore. Most were pastel colors and I like the blacks, grays, etc.

Anyway, I met this lady and her husband at McDonalds to give her the bag of slacks. They were an older couple, the lady was on oxygen and they looked like they were good hard workers who were down on their luck.

The gentleman told me that money was very very tight for them. I told them that I had been blessed and could I meet them at WalMart and buy some clothes for his wife that we know would fit.

So the couple meet me at WalMart, I helped her pick out 3 new tops and 2 pairs of slacks, and she tried them on. I took them through the check out and then gave the bags to them. They seemed very pleased and I felt super good!

I truly believe that if you give, it will come back to you threefold.
I have been blessed in my life.

I offered to foster another dog....
She is lab/staffordshire mix and it's a breed that many people do not like. So this poor little girl has not found a good home yet and the rescue group I help with has been trying to find a home for her for awhile. She has been in boarding----and with out living in a family/home environment it will be too hard to find her a perm. home.
So if I can work it out I will foster her and get her ready for a great home. She is absolutely adorable.

There's nothing more rewarding to me than to know that an animals life is better because I could help.

***by the way I love to help people too....and do what I can to help those that may need a little help.

Well.....I have cooked/and or went and got my grandmother something to eat everyday this week and picked up her medicine and other things she wanted/needed.

She liked my pedicure and she has never had one, so I'm taking her to get one and I will pay for it

Wow...it's heart warming to read how sweet and kind everyone has been...The world needs more people like this...It does feel good to give and while not looking for anything in return, I do think that God will bless those who help others. After reading about so much evil and tragedy these days, it's refreshing to know that good people really do exist. ~Lisa

I had my knee replaced last week and haven't done anything for anyone this week, but I have had kindness shown to me that I wasn't expecting!

DSs friends mom called and asked if I had arranged to have meals brought in when I came home from the hospital. I told her no that I just thought we would do take out and frozen food. Next thing I know, I had 5 different people call and tell me they were bringing hot dinners over to us for the week.

I would never have asked anyone to do this, but I have to say, we really enjoyed the meals and the thoughtfulness.

My mom has been babysitting my brothers 3 kids last couple weeks, youngest 2 months, my 4 yr old nephew who is also UNMEDICATED ADHD right now., AND my 6 yr old neice... So she has a handful. (she was conned into babysitting, she just can't say NO!!) I went over around lunch time to find my mom just sitting there with a screaming baby in her arms and a total look of exhaustion.... the other 2 were running up and down the hall (grandma lost control!!) SO I took the baby and told my mom to take a break......I wound up taking care of the baby for about half hour until he fell asleep and my mom got a much needed break. Its a little something but my mom was VERY grateful I came when I did. My mom shouldn't be babysitting she's a nervous kinda person so she was practically shaking when I got there

Awww, Valerie, sounds like she needed the break.

Lets see. I had printed out too many Luvs coupons and had gotten a bunch of Pampers $3 off from ebay that were going to expire tomorrow, so I dropped a bunch of both off in the diaper aisle. I always do this so I don't have to toss coupons that are good one. Even before I was buying diapers for my granddaughter I would cut the diaper and pull up coupons out and take them to the diaper aisle of the store. I know how much diapers cost and every penny helps when you have a baby.

I put together a big bag of winter clothes that my bigger granddaughter has outgrown and gave them to my other granddaughter's mommy, I told her what she couldn't use to please pass on to her sister who has twin girls that are a year younger then my granddaughters.

I freecycled all the baby stuff we had in our garage.

Oh, and I didn't kill my dh when he told me I could take the laundry for all 6 of us to the laundomat because my dryer hasn't been working this whole week.

My nice things this week have been in the kitchen. With DS1 just home from France and DS2 off to football camp today, I thought they should have good solid home-cooked food this week. So, I made them a favorite casserole (I know, ugh, but they like it), chili, pulled pork, and buffalo chicken, all with complete fresh fixings: mashed potatoes, veggies, fruit salads, etc - no cans, no frozen.

And the other was that I made two kinds of rice krispy treats and some brownies and sent them off to my Marines in Iraq who requested them this morning. Fingers crossed that they make it.

No big deals...but since I don't consider myself a real whiz in the kitchen, I think it was nice!

I convinced my neighbors to talk to a realtor before trying to sell their house outright. They found out they were going to ask about $40,000 LESS than what their house was worth!
