Don't know if I was a teen yet or not, don't think I was but I really, really, really really, wanted a pair of white go-go boots. Never did get a pair of them.

I had white go-go boots! And black ones, too! I wore them with my hot pants and my empire-waist mini dresses. OMG....those were the days.

I remember that I always wanted one of those Schwinn Sting Ray banana-seat bicycles --- they came in orange, green, and yellow and were called something like Orange, Lime, and Lemon Crates ???

Oh, pot and acid....LOL.....This was in the 70s, of course.

cj/

ETA - Thought of another thing....Herbal Essences shampoo. It was a dark green liquid with a naked girl with long hair and flowers on the label....so hippie.

I got a green Panasonic ball radio for my 8th grade graduation in about 1972. For years I wanted a pair of moccasins but never got them. I also wanted one of those leather purses that were stiff and shaped like a half circle with a flap that came over the front. When I was in 5th or 6th grade (1971,1972) I wanted one of those psychedelic lunch boxes that the girls carried that were soft and zipped around the top. Instead I got a metal lunch box with The Monroe's. Anyone remember that show?.

OMG this is such a funny post. I too wanted the Members Only Jackets, Parachute Pants, and Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans. I also wanted the Nike shoes that looked like the Puma shoes, but never got many of those items. I think I may have had a maroon Member's Only jacket. Also remember the jelly shoes? I had tons of them and I just saw them at Von Maur (sp?) the other day. I laughed so hard because they wanted I think over 18.xx and they were under 5.xx when I was younger.

Ahhh....memories

I had to have guess shorts I remember the night I babysat & made enough to buy me some!!! That was when I was about 13 1989 I babysat for a family that would pay alot & I watched the kids at least 3 times a week usually made around $30 bucks or more a night & that was 17yrs ago so it was alot for a 13 yr old at that time still is but ya know.

Then when I was 16 1993 I had to have a sports jacket I remember one of my paychecks from my first job I cashed it & went down & bought myself one. Those sure were the days LOL of no bills really I saved most of checks for a car or house I wanted to be gone the day I turned 18 LOL

You mean aside from my satin jacket ala Cheryl Ladd? LOL - I also LOVED my Sassoon jeans - zipped them up somehow...

And I can't forget those Jordache little pouch pocketbooks - they were about $2.00 each, but everyone got several - you had to have one for every outfit.

Nothing beat that satin jacket, though with the striped wristbanded sleeves. I thought I was the coolest...

And I second the "LOVE'S Baby Soft" - needed that, too!

I always wanted one of the gold panda coin rings in the early 90's but never got one. By the time I could have had one, seemed like everyone had them and didn't want one anymore.

Back in 7th & 8th grade, 1988 or 1989, everyone in our school had the brown leather eastland oxfords. I found some last year at JCPenney's and bought them.

Mood ring, the "ice" rings. I had a purple ice ring that a lot of my friends were so jealous over. It was funny b/c my mom and I were in the mall one day and Rogers jewelers had a clearance sale going on and I bought it.

Anything from the Limited. My entire wardrobe came from there from age 15 to 18. I also HAD to have a swatch watch, in different colors. Oh, any record/tape made by Depeche Mode. The big on is 1988 was tickets to the U2 concert, Joshua Tree. I almost melted down over needing those.

School ring? Does that count? I didn't get it... over $100 and single mom said, 'NO!' and I have not missed having it at all, but I sure remember begging for that!!! I also didn't get a yearbook until my Senior year.

I had the jellies... stinky HOT feet but great for wading in the river.

We didn't have TV so fads were kind of whatever the other kids had and none of them impressed me enough to want them! Ha ha.

I was never allowed to have anything I asked for,and was only ever bought what they wanted me to have which was usually 2 new pairs of Levi jeans and 2 new shirts at Christmas time and maybe a new dress for my birthday, there was ONE thing I was allowed to get that I asked for ,and that was to have my hair feathered. All the pretty girls was getting their hair feathered ,so I wanted mine feathered too.Only my moms hairdresser did a HORRIBLE job and made me look stupid for months till it grew out.

Mary janes and slip dresses about 95-ish (aged 13), and a lot of thrift stores clothes a year or two later. At least some of the 90's fads were cheap. I also had all sorts of odd coloured nail polishes and mascaras. When I tried to buy one recently, I found out it had been re-issued as a 'vintage edition'!

In the 80's? My Little Pony stuff I remember kind of throwing a fit in the mall because I wanted this baby carriage set... I think I ended up buying it myself at some point (and still have it, somewhere...)

I remember asking for a computer, and for my birthday, probably in '89?? I got one, a Tandy 1000, it was already probably 5 years old... couldn't get online with it which is what I wanted a computer for!

What a fun post! I was a teen in the 80's, graduated in 1989 so of course in the younger teens loved care bears, strawberry shortcake, My little pony and does anyone remember Sandy SeeWeed? She had a lily pad sponge and she was a small mermaid that had a baby mermaid with her. Sandy was the pink one I think. I wanted that so bad and got it! Also as a younger child wanted snoopy snow cone machine and some mother cow that you put water in and you could "milk" her and she had a baby too. Didn't get those, lol.
As a teen, I wanted clogs (the wooden heeled ones) and a leather jacket. Didn't get those. I did have the members only jacket and nikes. Also loved the shampoo that lightened your hair. I forget the name now, it came in red, yellow and brown bottles. I also wanted a swatch but never did get one.
LOL!

At age 12 I just had to have Sassoon Jeans. Well, my Mom bought me a pair and when we got home my Dad made her return them. He didn't feel that a 12 year old should be wearing skintight Designer Jeans! I cried and cried and cried.

After a few years passed and I was old enough I wore Gloria Vanderbilts, Jordache, Calvins, and Guess Jeans. I had many pairs of Designer Jeans over the years - I guess I was overcompensating for the fight with my Dad.
