Sucess stories and encouragement please!

Okay...I HAVE to do something about my weight! I had grand visions of losing weight before my wedding, but I didn't. I'm at 160 pounds and I have a fat stomach! When I got married the first time, in 1979, I weighed 210, so I am smaller, but I want to get to a weight/size where I feel good about myself. David is thin, and he doesn't understand why it's so difficult for me. I'll admit that I'm a snacker, and I have not been walking or exercising! I need some motivation or even a buddy that wants to do the same. Anyone up for it? --Marilou

Lightbulb Wow

I think you look beautiful!
Not sure if this will help, but I have did great.

I didn't intentionally start out to lose weight, it just kinda happened and then I realized the difference in what I was doing and kept it up and have maintained the weight loss.

I stopped eating vegetables. I started eating meats only and fruits and lost 10 lbs in a little over a weeks time. Then, I started walking at least twice a week late in the evening, because I can't stand the heat. Anyway, I am down 15 lbs and have no problems keeping it off. I would still love to knock off about 10 more lbs, but am ok where I am. ~~~I think the reason, I have not lost more is because I do eat veggies about once a week or so. I feel like if I am 'allowed' to eat it occassionally then it's not so bad, ya know?

Honestly, I don't feel like I am on a diet and don't really consider it to be. I have just learned to eat differently and comes natural...if that makes sense.

I have tried all types of diets and couldn't seem to stick to them or lose weight. And this one works for me, both mentally and physically.

So, I say, find your niche (plan) that works for YOU and do it. Set realistic goals too. (I think often times that's why we fail, because we think we can lose 50lbs in a week easily and that is just not realistic!) Remember some type of excercise is most beneficial as well. Pat yourself on the back for every accomplishment, no matter how small!

We can set up a buddy system if you would like. We could check in periodically and see how each other is doing. We can make plans such as excercise and report back to each other, etc. Just let me know what you think. I would gladly do it with you and lose those other 10 lbs!
