| Does anyone work from home and make pretty good money from it?
Okay, we have two boys that will be in elementary school and high school this year and when they were young, I was a stay at home mom with the first one and worked an opposite shift than my husband with the second one. We never had to put either of them into daycare. Now we have a baby and I have to return to work next week from maternity leave. It's killing me to have to put her in daycare. I don't want anyone else bonding with my daughter during this crucial time, especially when she is staying awake longer in the day and I will have her mostly at night when she's sleeping. I know that sounds silly an selfish, but that's the way I feel. I didn't have someone else raising my other kids when they are doing their "firsts" and learning new behaviors and habits. I am a professional at an area hospital and really enjoy my job. I also make good money there. This all boils down to the fact that I don't want to leave my daughter in the care of someone else when I return to work. Can anyone make any suggestions of any at-home work opportunities that can be considered lucrative? I'd be interested in anything.

Unless you have a reliable job lined up in Medical Transcription, I wouldn't waste my time and money. The jobs are getting to be few and far between due to technology and many self transcribing devices now available. A friend and her husband do this, but she has done it for about 15 years and her workload has decreased steadily the last few years. Over the years, I have done many things to make some extra money while staying at home.I currently watch kids in my home and I average about $500 per week. I also just started picking stuff up at garage sales and ebaying and I've gotten really good on spotting what will sell and make about $250 per week and spend about 5 hrs between finding at garage sales, listing and shipping. I also have a business making funky hats and scarves and have been wholesaling in NYC for the last 5 years and make a decent amount doing this. I could make more if I cared to set up at more shows, but I hate doing that and am okay money wise without doing that. Those are just a few things and not sure if you'd consider them lucrative, but they bring in enough income and I don't have to leave my home and can be here when my kids get home from school. |
