excellent! I am still smoking, but not even close to what I was!!! I had 4 different "triggers": when I wake up after I eat anything while driving high stress (like a cashier who's ticked me off) I don't smoke at any of the "trigger" moments anymore, AND I can only "handle" a half of a cigarette at a time!!! So I have gone from 1 pack a day down to 4 cigarettes total per day! It's really easy to follow the medication by letting it do most of the quitting for you! You do have to eat a good meal before taking the medicine or you WILL end up with a stomach ache, but that only happened on my first day... I had toast and coffee, then took the pill...that wasn't good enough...I hurt half the day. Now I eat a full solid meal and then take the pill with milk...no problems. just the dreaming...it's so vivid!!!

I have been on it for a month now. No vivid dreams here but I did start talking in my sleep. DH says I am just mumbling. My friend however, who was recently on it had the vivid, vivid dreams. Hers were like yours but ended up going away. Hopefully yours will go away soon. Congrats!!!! I can not even attempt to take a puff of a cigarette without feeling sick now. Eating was one of my triggers too. I have replaced that with sunflower seeds in kernals immediately following a meal. I get the sucking motion with the kernal in my mouth and then when I take it out to crack it open, I get the finger motion. Really, really helps me. Good luck everyone! |

Oh yeah, one more side effect (I guess)... prior to taking this medicine you could CHASE me with water before I would drink it... I HATED regular water! now??? I can't seem to get enough!!! I crave water and ice cubes!

Dreamscape: It took me about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks before the smoking made me sick. Honestly it just tastes so bad that I can NOT do it anymore which is a good thing. Yes, I too started drinking lots of water. Good luck and keep up the good work! --Lisa P.S. Our smoking cessation instructor said we need to be on the Chantix for a minimum of 3 months and can take it up to 5 months. Since I have 20+ years of smoking behind me, I am aiming on taking it for the full 5 months. |
