Well 5 years ago July 4 my dad had an heart attack. My sister calls me today and says she is at the hospital. I guess my dad had a pain in the groin for a few days and just not feeling well. This morning he was cold and clamy i guess too. So he drives himself and my mom to the hospital which is like 7 blocks from their apartment and they admit him because they could not find his pulse. He's lucky he didn't pass out driving. They said the groin pain was the least of his worrys the heart is not beating enough to even get a pulse. He heart only has a 35% fuction rate after the attack anyway. So my sister said they just got done putting a portable pacemaker on him. She just called and said the heart was beating better so they will probably be putting a permanent pacemaker in him in a few days.
I just hate seeing their numbers on caller ID because they only call when something bad is happening. It makes my heart race even before I pick up the dang phone. Living so far away from family really su#$@ at times. They are in MN and we are in VA. Dads 77.

I'm so sorry......It really is hard living far away when things like these happen......Glad to hear the pacemaker is helping though....I really hope the rest July is good to you guys.....
