How much is your water bill?

OK, I know this is a loaded question. It'll depend on where you live...yadda...yadda. But, I am SO happy! We just got a water bill for $39, using 6 units (billed quarterly). It's less than half what it usually is. It's much lower because we recently got a front loading washer, and installed 2 dual flush toilets. Do you have any other ideas for reducing a water bill?

We are billed for 2 months at a time. It is usually between $130 and $150. The sad thing is the water is the cheap part. The sewer and system charge is about $100 of that amount. I think that's a lot for the privilege of flushing. LOL

We are billed for water only. Our bill is usually always 37.71, which I have no idea how it can be the exact same every month.

This month however it finally went up! We have been watering a lot to save some trees that I just planted. It was $55. Not bad deal for all the watering that we did.

Our last water bill was $27 for the quarter. We don't water the lawn and only do about 3 loads of laundry/week.

I wish *I* could get by with 3 loads a week! Often times--we do 3 loads A DAY!

That said--during the summer months it's between $50 and $75. If we want any lawn at all we have to water, the kids play in the sprinklers and we usually fill up the pool and hot tub.

Our water bill is not for water only--it includes trash, sewer and allows us to take large items to the city landfill for free.

Our bill is water, sewer, and trash, and if you want a large item picked up, such as a box spring....they charge extra....$12.50 to be exact on the box spring, so, I cut it up, and took wire cutters to the springs, and crammed it in the trash can Oh, and our water bill last month was $128. It usually runs $70ish durning the Non Summer months, tho, since we water the lawn, and top off the pool.

We pay ours monthly, This month it is $112.00.

Water - 59.51
Sewer - 41.21
Garbage - 10.00
School tax - 1.79

It was a little higher this time because we filled the pool. But that only made it go up about $20.00.

Cheap SOBs! I mean they are coming to pick up stuff anyway--why should they charge you extra?

Ours will pick up for free, if you call at least 24 hrs. advance of the usual trash pick up day. If you are very energetic you can load it up yourself and take to the city landfill.

I guess I get the best deal. Of course I'm living by myself right now. After my last DD left home it dropped by more than half. LOL

$2.75 for water
4.32 for sewer
4.80 for trash
3.01 for a misc. service charge

$14.88 total for this month.

Ugh..a sore subject here. I think I have the highest. It has never been below $108/month for water, sewer and trash. We went from well to this! UGH!

Also remember that I live a really low cost of living area? (We just sold a NICE house 4 BR/2Bath, etc. for $108,000.)

Mine is $18.63 in my apartment. Also the same every month. I don't think I have a meter for them to read.

Ours is just below $40 every month and thats for sewer, water, and trash.
We have three 1/2 people plus a dog
My son has learned to flush the toilet and brush his teeth so our bill went up about $5 a month when he started "learning" hygiene but that's alright...

Yeah, but, I figure by doing that, I beat them at their own game. I had no idea they even did this. Friends of ours gave us an old cridensia (sp?) and we didn't want it, and it was truly not worth passing along....so, to the curb it went. I had called for a pick up. The next month when the water/sewer/trash bill came , there was a $5 charge on there. So, I called to see what it was for.......when the girl told me, I was like . Then she went on to tell me that she told me about the charge on the phone. I said, "um, no you did NOT, it was a MAN I spoke to!!! Well, next time, whatever I have that needs to be picked up, I'll just be sure to cut it up and CRAM it in my can!!!!"

ha, that's what we did this time

We live in an apartment and ours is roughly about $25 a month, but that doesn't include any laundry because we have a laundry facility and each load (wash & dry) is $2.50

Well water here, but our softner is old and we use tons of salt. When we were in the city it ran about 100/mo in the summer for the in ground pool filling and such. I'm glad I don't have a bill anymore because it takes me 1.5 hours to water, daily, because we haven't had much rain in NE Indiana.

Ours was $23 last month for water only. It will be higher this month because DD has been playing with the blow up water slide.

Mine has been $16.00 every 3 months. The reason it is that, is because the town I live has a bracket system for the bill. If your usage falls in the $16.00 usage range that's what you pay. I beleive there is 3 or 4 ranges. My MIL pays $12.00 and that includes us using her water to water the plants and wash cars and outdoor things. We live behind her in a house that is was a fromer rental property for them and we haven't fixed our outdoor facuect and it's in the back of our house anhow so it is much easier to use her outdoor facuet to wash cars. We don't pay sewer as we have a septic tank.
