this was all I could find on TXDOT site: Speed Limits The maximum daytime speed limit on most interstate and state highways in Texas is 70 miles per hour. At night, the maximum speed limit is 65 miles per hour. In some areas, the speed limit is higher because of fewer people traveling on certain roads. Oh well...

you know we've been in Texas for almost 8 years now, and I couldn't tell you. I know when we are on any roads that have a night time speed limit posted I always go with the night time one.....but I really don't know.....

My oldest DD and I were having a conversation about the night time speed limit on the way home from the movies, and she asked me how come I was going the night time speed limit when it's morning? It was 1:30 am, so I guess technically it was morning....You would think that they would have this posted somewhere, but I have searched and can't find anything anywhere on the actually guidelines for "nighttime"
