Your Alma Mater - Please share!

We are actively college shopping for DS1. Today, it's Cornell (long shot on admissions, but if you don't try, you'll never know). I am so focused on this college thing lately (as is DS), it's about all I talk about .... so why not here?

Tell about your Alma Mater - university, community college, on-line education venue, trade school....whatever/wherever you studied. Location, size, interesting facts, etc.

Northern Arizona University
Flagstaff, AZ
Link: Northern Arizona University - Home Page

Known for their School of Forestry and Teacher Education Program... EVERY other major is available however! It is the smallest of the 3 Arizona Universities. Beautiful campus. Beautiful town...

I have done distance learning from them as well. They offer graduate level courses at every community college in the state (only AZ university that does this).

Hmmm... seasons, skiing, mountains, did I already say *beautifu*l! and 90 miles from the Grand Canyon and lots of hiking all around. It is THE school for outdoors folks!

Kent State.. I loved Kent state but always an activists trying to get their name in the paper. I will never forget one time a guy wanted the campus to stop serving meat so he lived on pizzas for 2 weeks... (weren't we all?? lol)

Towson University - Towson Maryland

Home of the Tigers! I graduated from here and work at Towson now in the Budget Office. We are located 8 miles outside of Baltimore and have a current enrollment of 18,921 students which includes full time (13,500) part-time and over 3,000 graduate students. Towson was founded in 1866 and is the second largest university in the University of Maryland System. We are the 12th larges public university in the United States. We graduate the most teachers of any Maryland school and have an outstanding business and nursing program. We have a joint MBA plan with another Maryland System school. Our lacrosse team is ranked nationally each year as well as our outstanding soccer program.

I loved attending Towson (isn't it obvious since I now work here too!)

Check out Towson University for more information or feel free to email me at dauvil@towson.edu with any questions.

Good luck on your search!

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma located in Norman, Oklahoma. My graduating class was 5000, student population 35,000 at that time, it is much smaller now. It was not uncommon to be in a class size of 200 people for an entry level class. They offer many undergraduate programs, graduate programs, law program, medical school, has it's own airport. Lots of international students.

You talking about me?

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign -

Big 10 school with great academics and pretty good sports teams from time to time, 30k+ students, fairly large Greek system. The big drawback of the school is that its located in the middle of cornfields/nowhere.

College of Engineering consistently ranked in the top 10 nationwide so I was fortunate to attend as a resident. My tuition (at the time) was <$400/semester!!
