I need help with baby names.

I`m going to be a grandmother for the first time and my daughter and sil have picked a couple of names for a boy and girl (yhey find out tomorrow what the sex will be) I want to know what baby names you like and the ones that are popular. I want to see if anyone picks the ones that my dd and sil picked.

I am weird about baby names...I like family names. I love this site though, you can type in a name and find out how popular it is. Since it is based on social security cards I am guessing it is pretty accurate. Popular baby names

I'll start w/ my kids' names...

Patrick Ryan
Phillip Michael
Killian Thomas
Kieran Alexander

those are MY favorite names.

If any one of them had been a girl, they would have been Lauren Elizabeth.

Aidan
Payton
Jayden
Carter
Ryan
Landon
Caleb

These seem to be super popular for boys. I LOVE the name Aidan, but would never do that to my son! I don't do girls names (because I don't have any )! I am due with my second boy in 2008!

Thanks for that list because I didnt know that the 2 girls names that my daughter picked were so popular but they are Sopia and Issabella but they are afraid of the baby being called izzy. The boys name I dont like at all and its not on that list its Gaberell after the angel. Not sure if I spelled it right. Hoping its a boy. the last name is Missina. My husband said to call her angelina messina(how awful) I said I hope its a boy but meant girl.

Just remember the child has the name for LIFE!!! We left the hospital with my second son unnamed because we couldn't decide between David or Kevin. When we stopped at my moms to pick up my oldest son on the way home (6 at the time) he came running out screaming "I want to see Kevin" so that's how we chose that name! lol Both of my boys would have been Sara Ann if they had been girls.
Make sure the initials don't spell anything bad!!!
Give it a "normal" spelling of the name.
Try not to be too trendy.
Good luck and ENJOY!!!! Kids are great!

My neice named her daughter McKenna. which is a last name and you cant get anything off of a shelve with her name on it. Her father gave her a middle name of
sam.

my nephew is a Braden. My son is a Donovan. Don't see it much, but a little more now than at first. I loved the name. He is not called Don or Donny. Just Donovan and it suits him VERY well. It was between Donovan and Justin. At the time Justin wasn't very popular, but became so afterward. I wanted a not very common name since I am a VERY common Cindy.

That's so funny because I have two brothers -- named David and Kevin! LOL.

My son is Connor, which is rising in popularity, and my daughter is Peyton. The only other Peyton in her school is a boy. I love her name. I think Peyton is probably becoming more popular with Peyton Manning out there, but I first heard the name for a girl in the movie "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle."

Our 3 month old baby girl is Katelynn Elizabeth. If she were a boy it would have been Christopher Michael. Other girls names I love are: Emma, Ella, and Charlotte - hubby doesn't like any of those names, though!

Our two girls are named Kathryn (21 years ago) and Faith (11 years ago). When Katie was born, I loved the name Bret for her (dh hated it, since its his name). The other name we thought of instead of Faith was Taylor. Everyone we talked with like Faith better! I am happy now that we didn't go with Taylor since there are several in her grade. We also liked the names Jacoby or Zeke for a boy, but we never got the chance to use either of them!

My big advice though is if you have a common last name, go with a less common first name. My husband's name is Chris Jones and before we moved south, there was a sex offender with the same name and age and his name was always in the paper!

Well my son did not make the list last year as he did in previous years. (Austin) But, my DD did, she has been on it since a year after she was born. (Emma). We chose her name because there is an Emma in each side of mine and DH's family every generation going back at least 6 generations. Now it is gaining in popularity. ( I think a lot has to do with "Friends", mine was first lol)

I like the names Oliver, Meridith, Chloe, Patrick. To name a few

Edited to add, I did not pick my kids name off the ss list. They were not on there the year they were born. (I don't think) Our names have sentimental value. Although they are growing in popularity. (especially Emma).

My daughter is Eden Elizabeth.
My grandsons are Willoughby (Will) and Finley (Finn)
My son was almost Alexander Scott until we realized his initials would be A.S.S. !!!
His name is Eric Ruel.
Ruel is and old name and it was his father's middle name and his great-grandfather's first name.
I even met a man a couple of weeks ago named Ruel. I was really surprised!

I love the name Ella and Ellie. Ellie is my favorite!! It's my daughters name. Her real name is Elizabeth and we didn't want her to be a Liz so we gave her a nickname. She is more of an Ellie than an Elizabeth. She used to ask me now which name is mine? Oh how we have confused that child. Poor girl

When I was pregnant with my son, only one name stood out - Adrian. I don't think he's run into too many Adrians at school, but he's only going into 3rd grade Middle name Ewan (daddy's middle)

Couldn't think of a boys name with my daughters, so really glad they were girls lol! We have a Morrighan Maeri ("Mary" is a family thing on my mother's side, my grandmother's first, mother's middle, my first is Merry, so my daughter got Maeri for a middle, insurance agent started to misspell my name Maer and corrected it but I liked it lol).. my baby is Maeve Ceridwen. Have a Mac___ last name so I think they fit

We thought our first daughter was going to be the last... so I threatened my husband that if I got pregnant again and it was a girl I was going to name her Onyxia, after a big dragon in World of Warcraft! (changed my mind, when it happened... )

When's the baby due?

My boys names are Brodin and Beau.
When choosing Brodin, I took the B from my father's first name and the R from my mother's first name. My name is Jodi so I used the OD from that and my brother's name is Robin and I used the IN from that. Many think that his real name is Brodrick but it isn't. Many call him Brody. For Beau, I just always loved Beau Bridges and I've never regreted naming my son that. I think that the boys are both happy with their names as well. they are now 19 and 22 and will be at at Miami University in the fall. Grad school and a Freshman.

maeva is a french name,(from Tahiti which means Welcome) and delphine ,the meaning is a "dauphin"(,but in the sense of heiress of a throne) ,she is really the princess of the family, she rules!!!!

No matter how much I loved a name,I would never use it for one of my kids if it was in the top ten on the SS site.

I for the most part picked out my kids names and they are
Emaline Louise
Katie Elissa Nell
Kenneth Eric Neil
Max Alexander
Natalie Lauren
Jane Margaret
Eleanore Pearl
Clara Vedder

I picked out all except Katie and Kenneth.

charleston2045, your kids names, especially Amythest and Maddie sound so familiar, I think I remember you from another board years ago.

Out of my three girls names, Naysa is the only one that I have never heard/seen used.

We have names picked out for #4 (if/when THAT happens). Our boy will be Asher Michael Saul and the girl will be Hannah Sara (or Sarai) Michelle. All my girls have two middle names.

My girls middle names are

Emma Marie
Elizabeth Anne
Ivy Mae

When we were picking out Naysa's name, we were going to name her Ivy Mae something. I found Naysa online which is Hebrew for Miracle of God.

My DD (14)name is Cardi Ann. Cardi is latin meaning "from the heart"(which is where she came from) and Ann is my middle name. I wanted her to have an unusual name because there are so many kids with the same name. I wanted her to be unique, and she sure is.
