Our McDonalds here in Sitka, Alaska sells a burger called the McKinley Mac. It's actually a Big Mac, but they use 1/4 lb burgers instead of the regular ones....cause everythings bigger in Alaska. LOL! Also, we don't have a dollar menu here.....it's $1.50 menu! LOL! Very limited too. ![]() They also sell Tillamook ice cream and use Seattle's Best coffee in all their machines.

Here they have the family size chicken nugget meal for $15 - 50 nuggets, 5 fries, 5 med drinks. They don't list the all-american meal, but if you ask for it, they have it.

I am in Indiana and we have 2 of the the fresh baked cookie flavors, and Iced coffees, but no Cappucino yet! They had Sugar cookies when we were in MD, we only have choc chip and Oatmeal raisin here. We only get the apple pies ,never cherry or other variety any more. Saw Sweet tea on a trip east. |

I don't think there is anything special about ours..although from going to other McD's I see that not many offer a dollar menu 4 piece nuggets, and ours does. I've been to McD's that sold hot dogs though, and I remember I thought that was so weird.

When we were in Hawaii last summer they had Spam & eggs on the breakfast menu, they also had Taro Fried Pies - what poi is made from (they tasted like a cross between rhubarb & sweet potatoes) and on Waikiki Beach, they had a side of pineapple with their almost $9 value meals. Lisa

I don't eat there much anymore. I think since they introduced their Dollar Menu prices seem to have gone up (even some items that are ON the dollar menu are now more expensive than they used to be )! The strangest thing that I have noticed is that my McD's offers cheeseburgers for $0.99, but offers the Double Cheeseburgers for $1.00. WTH!

Another thing I thoroughly enjoyed, which I didn't think I would like, was the Raptor Center. HAPPY CRUISING! I'm jealous. |

Definitely try to see the New Archangel Dancers if you can....I'm not sure what days they perform (or the times). The Raptor Center is a must. A walk thru Totem Park would be nice as well. Get a Reindeer sausage from the corner vendor....they are very yummy! (and yes it's actual reindeer meat, not just a cute little name they give it cause you're in Alaska. )Welcome to Sitka, Alaska Sitka Convention & Visitors Bureau Sealife Discovery Tours » Dive Pictures Enjoy your day in Sitka! Hopefully the sun will be out that day!

I used to work at a McDs. It was irratating to hear a customer come in and order soup ( this was in Va). When I replied we did not have soup, the person would get irate and say where they are from ( NY, NJ, etc) they have soup..well..we did not.. Also, about the cappucino..that stuff would get soo buggy and nasty in the machine ! I only sold about 2 a week..the mix would sit in a hopper and get gummy , buggy looking, etc..we threw so much out...then discontinued it. Our McDs had 79 cent 44 oz back in 2003..just lost leaders..only lasted the summer.

| We got breakfast at a McDonald's in Albuquerque, NM once and had breakfast burritos. I think they used the local Hatch chilis. They were super spicy, which was a treat for us but I was thinking at the time that if someone didn't eat spicy it wouldn't be a good experiance.

Ours has the 1.00 sweet tea. I was shocked when we were in Texas, and I asked dh to get me a tea & they gave him unsweet tea. Blech! They also had the cookies there, which we do not. Dh also noticed the price w/ the cheeseburger/double cheeseburger. |

I work at McD's. I have learned over the years that the owner/operator has some control over his prices. The company stores usually go with the company rules. Some things they just say this is coming soon and you are going to serve it. When the company says we are discontiuing this it is gone. There are exceptions to the rules, if things go well in your area then the owner can say I would like to keep this and sometimes they let you. There are regions and areas. Depending on your location you follow their rules. Also you follow certain rules or you can loose your francise. Sometimes all these little rules and regulation are a royal pain, but they gotta keep things going the same within the company rules. Also the owner/operator can get the different machines, like the cappacino, but all these things are very expensive and have to be maintained, and if they go down they have to be serviced by an outside repair person. That is very expensive also. There is alot of stuff that goes on the the average costomer knows nothing about. Please be nice to the counter people, they have no control over the people working in the grill area. And there are all sorts of things that can go wrong that affects the way the day goes. Geting all aggravated because you got the wrong drink doesn't change anything. We try to do our best, but the wrong drink or sandwich isn't the end or the world, just an inconvience. Call in and tell the manager and they will make it right the next time you visit. |

I miss McD's. I know it's weird, but I just HAD this discussion about McDs elsewhere, but suffice it to say, that I'm <SO> looking forward to the day, that I bring all 3 girls to McDs, order something to eat for all <3> of them, and snap 100 pix of them scarfing down the food, not caring about trans fats et al... Just thinking that puts a smile on my face... truly. Made my day right there. Whats inside our McD's and menu? Not a clue. Newmans coffee. Dollar menu (I think). A playland ![]() Jason |

The McD in our neighborhood has 39 cent hamburgers or 49 cent cheeseburgers - you can get up to 10 at a time, used to be Tue & Wed evenings between 4pm and 8pm that they did this. oh and I really like the new Southwest salad that comes with a whole chicken breast, that was tasty, but not a great deal at about $6 or $7 with tax - other than the SW salad, have not seen anything new lately, occasionally a limited time flavor of ice cream or shakes or something, like blueberry or raspberry... |

My son atttends college in NC, and the McDonalds there is a "McCafe" that sells Starbucks-type stuff (Coffee drinks, fancy pastries, breads, etc.) in addition to the regular menu stuff. I had sweet tea there well before it made it up here (Maryland.) The McCafe has a very nice atmosphere, sofas, dim lighting, etc. Very unusual!

It's interesting to hear what goes on at MCD's now. I DO NOT eat there and WILL NOT eat there so I don't really know what's on the menu. That said, I DO know that many of our local MCD's have been *made over* into "cafes" with specialty coffee and internet access and have a more cafe feel than fast food. I read the article the local paper had on the change. I know some of them have movie rental stations too.

I hardly ever go to McDonalds nor will my teenaged boys, believe it or not! I will only eat two things there - Egg McMuffin and soft-serve ice cream cones - and they're pretty much the same at all stores, although some are really stingy with their ice cream. cj/ |

| One of ours has kiddie cones for children generally 10 and under for FREE. They are small but how can you argue with the price. The other one of our McDonalds does not do the quarter pound patties for burgers. You can only get burgers, cheeseburger, double cheeseburgers, big macs and chicken nuggets, but you can get the big pretzels.

| were is this. boy if my mcd`s had this menu Id probably be there alot. The only thing that we have that is good is paul Neman iced coffee and snack wraps.

| I believe they do all have the breakfast burrito. The difference was that the chili's used in NM were much hotter than I've had elsewhere. I loved it but my sister that thinks bell peppers are a little on the hot side would have died.

Ok, I got it now, lol. I assume ours uses Hatch chilis since we're only an hour or two away from Hatch. We have ice cream cones for .39 during the summer. In Ft Worth, they have gaming stations for the kids w/ playstations.

Don't come to the McD's in Mansfield, TX because there's nothing special about it. LOL Ours doesn't even carry the cookies. We can drive to just about any other McD's in neighboring cities and they have them (sugar, choc chip & oatmeal raisin) 3 for $1. I can't think of any time they've ever had any items for a special price. I've noticed a McD's in Arlington that has like $a 1 Happy Meal night. peapie |

In my area the Covelli family owns many, if not all of the McDonalds. There is one in Warren that is two stories and has a lifesize McDonaldl's Moon man in a black tuxedo playing a white baby grand piano. You just push a button and he plays.
