Cell Phone Caller

I picked up my cell phone today and saw that I had a missed call.
I did not recognize the number, but called it back and a woman answered.
I didn't recognize her voice, but I said, "Hello, I'm returning your call."
She said she hadn't called me that I must have dialed the wrong number.
I didn't "dial" anything, I just clicked on the number that had called me.
Is she crazy or am I???

Hmmm, did you call the wrong number or did she?? I think anyone who just randomly calls back people that they do not know is crazy. Sorry, if they don't leave a message it was either unimportant or maybe they called the wrong number. The only people I call back from my callerID are my family...they know I screen calls and will call them back if I miss their calls.

Do you by any chance have tracfone? Mine does this at least every other week lately. I get a call that I don't recognize and they say they haven't called. But they have! It has also happened the other way, Someone calls my number and says they are returning my call. I haven't called them. Very weird!

Our AT&T cell service has been wacky lately too. My phone will show that someone from home is calling but when I answer it isn't them at all however someone from home really was trying to call and they got someone random also. This has happened when I call someone directly out of my contacts list too and don't actually dial the number.
Weird!

We don't have trackfone.
We are very involved with a couple of conventions so we have to check out every call even tho we don't know who they are. We are likely to get calls from all over the USA.
Maybe At&T just doesn't have it all together yet, but it seems as tho they should!

Do you have voice mail? And does your voice mail clearly identify who you are, what association you are involved in? If so, then....a caller should leave a message. And if they don't then what they are needing is CLEARLY not that important!

If I don't recognize a number (at home or on the cell) and they don't leave a mssg, my opinion is that they can either call back, or not. But I do not have time, energy or inclination to be tracking down "phantom" callers!

This used to happen to me all the time too, I had nextel and when I would call someone it would ring someone I completely didnt know!! I would even just redial the last number and it would go to the right person... so sometimes i think the lines might just cross, but it is very weird.

If I don't recognize a number and have missed a call, I figure that either they'll leave a message or call back. I never call back the number...but that's just me. If she denied calling you when you know that was the number that called you, I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe she doesn't want to admit that she dialed the wrong number. Who knows? ~Lisa

I am confused too as to why people do this, call back a number when a message wasn't left. Maybe her husband dialed the wrong number so he hung up. Same thing with caller id numbers. I had a woman call my house once, kind of nasty, saying I had called her house and what did I want? My number was on her caller ID. WTH!? Turns out it was one of the workers doing my kitchen cabinets had called home. I asked her if she wanted me to tell her son's boss that he was using customer's phones without permission and setting them up for harassing phone calls. She backpedaled pretty quick and started spitting out apologies. Jerk.

The only time I will ever call a number back is if it's shown up on my caller id for several days. Then I will call them back and politely let them know that they've been dialing the wrong number.

Did you ever stop to think, that maybe someone else used that phone and dialed a wrong number. She could have been telling the truth.

Bottom line, just return the numbers you recognize or don't use caller ID as an answering machine. It saves a lot of trouble in the long run.
