Harry Potter...Have your kids seen the new movie? Waiting on the 7th book??

My boys have always been big fans. My 16 yr old works at a movie theater, so he has seen the movie 3 times already--once at the midnight showing opening night, once with his brother, and last night again with friends. He liked it, though it was based on the 5th book, which was his favorite, so he was bound to find it somewhat disappointing. My youngest d/s liked it, but didn't like it enough to want to see it again.

Have you seen it? Your kids? What's your impression?

Are you all awaiting the release of the last book?? Have you pre-ordered? I pre-ordered for my oldest in college. My 16 yr old plans to head to the insanity of the book store for one of the release parties.

I'm curious how much Harry Potter fever still exists.

P.S. Wish I was J.K. Rowling...or her daughter!

Both of my kids saw it on opening day with their Dad. My son (11) has been dying all summer for the movie to come out....now he can't wait to get ahold of the book. According to him (a HUGE Potter fan) the movie was great if you haven't read the books....but if you read the book then it leaves a lot of the details out. He still liked it though. He is such an avid reader that he has a hard time seeing movies that he has already read the book for....gets very disappointed in lack of details from the books to movies.

We went and saw the movie opening day in IMAX. It was ok. The movie was not a good as the book. The baby was fussy so I, being the only one that has read the book, went in the lobby with her. I did make it back to see the fight at the end (it was in 3D in IMAX). I liked it.

I will also be one of the freaks at a release party. I an excited to read the last book. I am a big fan.

I haven't gone to see it yet, figured it'd be too crazy for the first few days. We may go see it next week or I'll just wait till it's out on DVD. (I'll buy the DVD regardless if we go see it or not) I've had the book pre-ordered since last year! I'm a huge HP fan as well!

It was the worst of the lot - the director and screen player writer should be SHOT. Thank goodness the screen play writer for the first 4 movies and the director from the 1st 2 will be back for Half Blood Prince.

I was rather pissed at SOOOO much being left out.

I can't wait for the book! I preordered from Amazon, but am rather upset over getting the email saying that if I want it that day to change from free shipping. When I first signed up for it, it was free shipping and getting it that same day it came out.

my kids went with MIL yesterday. MIL is a big Harry fan. She was disappointed I think because of how in detail the books are.
I have not even watched the entire first movie! Nor read any of the books I must be a freak huh?
