Cool I see you on the beach! You are...

_________________?????

A day at the beach with your family...what are YOU doing?

Are you out there with the skimboards? The ocean dweller the lifeguards are constantly whistling to come closer to shore? Building sandcastles? Relaxing with a book? Playing ball with your kids?

Which person would you choose to be, if you could?

I'm usually down in the water with the kids, since I always have to be within a short distance if they are in the ocean. Love the lifeguards, but the beaches are busy. I do now get to sit and read a bit since my kids are getting older, which is fabulous! And I am inevitably digging holes for moats, working the architectural review committee for sandcastles, and slathering suntan lotion on everybody.

Please don't tell me you are the family next to my blanket whose kids are feeding the seagulls so they hover over my head!!

We go to the beach every Wednesday. The kids are in the water boogie boarding and the 3 or 4 moms are sitting under umbrellas talking and keeping an eye on the kids. Then us parents borrow the kids boogie boards and go in the water. There is no feeding the seagulls because the kids eat everything when we are at the beach. Your not the person next to me that lets their kids run and get sand all over our blankets?

I am the mom that likes to look for shells with her kids. I am also the mom that gives the ladies with the "thongs" dirty looks because her naked butt is laying or prancing around in front of my kids oh and sometimes thier tops are undone while they are laying there so when she gets up there is also a little hanging out before she fastens it back up.

Don't care if my hubby sees it, just be respectful of my kids, and personally I don't want to see it.

We are the family that when we vacation we have to eat at Flanigan's next to the beach.

I am laying on a blanket reading a book, walking the shore looking for shells, building sandcastles with the kids, burying the kids in the sand, and going no higher than my neck in the water.

I love the beach. We are going to OC MD next month and I can't wait!

I'm on an ATV. LOL Our beaches aren't exactly warm. Where I live the closest beach area is basically for ATVs. We do have places to roam but it's usually chilly and the water COLD!

I am the one who is trying to keep the sand off of me while building a sand castle. I am the one who keeps running up to the showers to clean off. My family of course are the ones over there completely covered in sand thinking that they are going to get in my car. Oh and there is my husband way out there swimming trying to give me a heart attack. Yes we are also the ones with the bags full of shells.

Can you tell I cannot relax at the beach. I can't stand sand never could. Love the water and the waves but the sand drives me insane.

not even there LOL! I hate the beach- which is not a good thing living in Florida.

The only time I ever go to the beach is to take pictures of the sunset!

Tiki Bar??? Boy, my beach sucks! We were excited when they opened an ice cream stand up on the dunes a couple of years ago. (Excited till we realized your choices were to stand up there on the hot sand and quickly eat the ice cream while your feet fried, or run back to the blanket and end up with mush!)

And Addison, you should go to the beach with my d/h. The idea of sand in his car is enough to make the veins in his neck pop. Did you know that apparently you will NEVER get it all out? Even if the kids rinse off and sit on towels? NEVER. A life sentence of sand in the car.

Of course, he'll let them sit in my car full of sand, fingerpainting, drinking Hawaiian Punch while tossing popcorn at each other and burping the alphabet.

oh trust me I know!!!! It drives me up a wall. I have the kids shower then change their clothes then before they get in the car. I wipe them down with a towel. Still they get out and there it is the pile up in the back of the car. sand from here to there in every corner EVERYWHERE. I hate it and you really can't get it all out.

I'm not a huge fan of sand either. I LOVE the beaches in the Caribbean though. The water is just so gorgeous there... you could lay on the beach and watch it for days on end.

I am the mom on the beach that is keeping an eagle eye on my skim boarding or body surfing children...until I realize that I have been watching the wrong kid for the last 45 minutes. I have my first pair of eyeglasses this summer, so I should do much better. My kids are alot older now so do not require quite so much supervision. I love to read, watch the waves, and people watch.

I'm the one providing you shade with my wide load butt!!! LOL No really I will be the one in the water with the disabled teen in a floaty suit (my dd, not me). I love the water and will be in it most of the day or until I feel my dd has had enough sun.

Well last week I was the mom with the 3 yr old boy who peed in the sand, ran around swinging a headless dead fish, ate all of our snackies and did his very best to drive his sister and all the other girls crazy! He is the life of the party no matter where we are!

If you see me between 5:30-7:30 AM, I am walking the beach and picking up shells...or I might be sitting in the sand and just reflecting, praying, etc...

If you see me between 11 AM-3 PM, I am sunbathing, walking the beach again, jumping through waves, talking with friends and laughing...seldom am I reading unless I am totally alone. I do like going out in the water, but I always go with someone. Four years ago, I almost drowned in Ixtapa! Ended up with a concussion and two black eyes, so I have a new-found respect for the ocean. I still go out, go under, swim the waves...but I am smart about it.

Then...if it's between 5-8 PM, I am walking the beach (for the third time), strolling hand in hand with David...talking. Probably in water up to my knees and running back from the waves from time to time.

AND...if it's between 10-midnight--we're on the beach, but I hope you don't see me! ;-)

I LOVE THE BEACH--was on Amelia Island for a week in mid June and READY TO GO BACK!

In about a week you'll see me, DH, and 10yr old DD in the ocean trying to see who can boogie board better.
