Sent To Bed Instead

What moron would send a two year old to bed after a head injury? She didn't even bother to check on him! The father found him when he came over 'later'. Pops is no prize, either. He finds his son unconscious and instead of calling for an ambulance, he calls the grandmother in Fort Worth! Wonder what else they did to lose custody? It's a shame that these idiots were allowed visitation.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A 24-year-old Texas mother is in jail after she treated her 2-year-old son's head injury with a Popsicle instead of calling 9-1-1.

Ebony Thorne's son Joshua later died of the injury.

Arlington police said the boy fell eight feet down a U-shaped stairwell in Thorne's apartment Wednesday morning. Investigators said instead of calling for an ambulance, Thorne placed a Popsicle on her son's head and put him to bed.

When the boy's father arrived later, he found Joshua unresponsive. Police said he called Thorne's mother, who drove to the apartment from Fort Worth and called 911.

Officers found bruises and marks around the toddler's head and dried blood on his nose and mouth.

Thorne's charged with injury to a child by omission/criminal negligence. Her 3-year-old son and 10-month-old girl were returned to their grandmother, who had custody of all three children.

What a complete dumb a$$

THat is absolutely horrible. And the poor child had to suffer.

Obviously, there was something wrong with the mother anyway, I noticed that it said the GRANDMOTHER already had custody!

Poor children....I will be praying for all three.

I think its a shame that people with NO business having children get blessed with them. Those of us that are lucky to have the one we got or can't have them should get them instead.

Really, Grandmother shouldn't have custody, either. She's an idiot, too. I looked it up and it's twelve miles from Arlington to Fort Worth. She got a call that said her two year old grandson was unconscious and then drove twelve miles to her daughter's apartment to check things out for herself and THEN called 911 from her daughter's apartment. Twelve miles? Wouldn't minutes count? Why didn't she immediately call an ambulance from her own phone before she left?

The stupidity of this trio is unbelievable! I fear for the safety of the other two children with Pops and Grandmama as their caretakers.

Yup, a whole bunch of dim bulbs. More reason to make sure the bio mom doesn't have any more children....with a 3, 2(now deceased), and 10 month old, the pattern doesn't look good....

Playing devil's advocate here for all of you crucifying grandma.

What did the Dad say to the Grandma over the phone that she was to know immediately to call 911? Maybe, Mom took the kids in the past and nothing happened. Maybe, she thought that the Mom was getting her act together and taking steps to reunite the family. Maybe, maybe, maybe.

It's easy to play the blame game after the fact. Sad to say, but some kids fall through the cracks and pay the price with their lives. In hindsight, it is easy to say that the kids should never have been in the home and the little boy would still be alive.

The real killers here are the drugs and the pushers.

There are SO many unfit parents out there. As we deal with the mom of our little Faith, every time I hear something like this I get scared for her to go back to mom.

Parents have to do so much to lose custody.....So sad....
