Empty nest comes in bits and pieces. So sad...

My son graduated from college this year. My daughter is entering her junior year of college in the fall. I went down to clean the basement today. (a job long overdue) I found a tiny pair of Barbie roller skates and some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Ugh! Tears welled up in my eyes.

Why do they have to grow up so fast?

Awwww.....I put stuff like that in my kids' "memory boxes" . They will get them when they marry. Fun stuff to go thru later.

I know EXACTLY what you are going through. I've had to finally completely move all of my daughters things out of her room to make room for Faith, and it was so hard. ( faith is a baby who lives with us)
My dd got married last Aug.

My Ds left this spring and I 'm dealing with many of his things too. It is heart wrenching isn't it? They do grow up TOO fast.

I have a drawer full of notes from my dd and I came upon a stray the other day that made me laugh cry and miss the 13 yo girl who wrote it! SO bittersweet!

I'm trying to prepare myself...DD is a senior beginning in 2 weeks, and my DS is just starting High School. Not much longer with them....not long enough in my opinion
