How much is milk in your area?

It seems that ovenight our milk prices jumped. Now we are paying 4.20 a gallon. Some stores here in Ga are over 5.00.
I remember when I was a kid my dad bought us powdered milk. I think I understand why now.
My grocery buggy is not as full as it used to be. I hope some of these prices go down soon!

Until recently we could get it at the local mini-marts for $1.99 to $2.29 per gallon. It has now jumped- cheapest is $2.99, have paid up to $3.69. In western Ma.

We have found in our area that a gallon of regular 2% milk is the same price as organic milk minus the hormones and antibiotics. So we buy organic and after we return the glass bottles it cost $3.86. I think that is such a deal!!!

Wow I shouldn't be complaining!
A week ago the commissary price went from 2.14 to 2.44!
I was so mad, that the milk price jumped .30 in less then a week.
Now I am happy all I am paying is 2.44

I paid $3.49 at the regular target for 1%
I paid $3.29 at CVS tonight for 1%
I paid $2.89 minus the $2 off coupon for silk soy chocolate milk at target so .89 for a half gallon of soy but I can't bring myself to drink it...can't get past the super sweet smell...plus I don't like chocolate so there's that too but silk had the coupon on their website and it's gone now but I saved it to my computer and it doesn't expire...nice!! The boy loves it though. He can't tell the difference!! He's 2 though.
I personally go through about 1 gallon every two days but I am pregnant and milk is sooooo good right now!! Very refreshing and so easy to drink. I can usually get overage on coupons so that eats the cost of the milk and all is well. CVS and Target rocks!

I predict that you will have a boy!

We try to buy milk every other week as it seems to be on sale about that often.
On sale we pay about $2.29....2.50.
Regular price is around $3.50 I think. It is now more than gasoline!!!!!

I've discovered that in my area Walmart is offering the best deal on it's brand of milk. $2.89/gallon vs $4.19 at Super Target for name brand.

Unhappy

Wow and I thought things were cheaper here in the South. I pay 3.49 at Walmart. Also catfood (store brand) has jumped a full dollar a bag! WTH? Even with price matching produce and all groceries are killing us. Not to mention formula! We're going to have to put our heads together and come up with some thrifty ways to save money. This is ridiculous! Donna

Just outside of Nashville TN -

Aldi's 2.89 gallon
Kroger 3.49 gallon or 3 for $5.00 half gallon (saves .1 off gallon price when you buy two)
Wal-Mart 3.37 gallon

Since Kroger is less than 2 miles from me, we shop there most of the time. Aldi's is a once a month trip.Wal-Mart - whenver dh will chauffeur me there, lol.

In the Tampa Bay area,

$4.19 for a gallon at Publix (up from $3.85 a week ago)
$2.49 on sale this week for a a gallon at CVS

$1.49 on sale this week for a half-gallon at Walgreens

I have always bought my milk at Publix, but now I am going to shop around. I was glad to see the $2.49 at CVS this week.

About 3.69, but we get organic. Why is it so expensive in the rest of the country? I'm in Massachusetts - it's not like this is dairy farm country!

I get 2% and it is 2 gallons for 4.89. If you only buy one it is something like 2.89 each. I always just buy the 2, luckily we have a large refrigerator.

I am from California and i thought we are usually so much higher than everywhere else, but i guess not much now. My sister in law always points out how everything is so much cheaper where she lives, and so much better, I guess i can now ask about her milk....

When you mentioned powdered milk i immediatly thought about that commercial where the older woman serves her cats the powdered mil and they aren't too happy about it...

Hopefully prices will be soming down soon.

We only buy organic milk and it goes for $3-$3.50 a half gallon. But it's worth it my family doesn't drink hormones, antibiotics or other drugs.

Last week it was $4.52 for a gallon of chocolate skim milk and $4.32 for white vitamin D milk. Normally I buy 2% because it's cheaper (maybe .20 less a gallon), but I had two coupons for free gallons from the GM cereal deal, that I had to use before they expired so I got something a bit different.
