Afternoon Delight

VERY RARE!

Grandma has the kids, Dh is taking off early from work, and we'll have the whole afternoon here at the house ALONE! Or we could run out and do something!....

Besides the obvious , what would you think would be a fun afternoon date?

What ever makes BOTH of you happy.

Maybe eat out somewhere with no worries about all the allergies.

We'd probably get out the board games that we can never play with the kids around! or put in a rated 'R' DVD (full of violence and obscenity, in the LIVING ROOM... instead of hiding out in the back room) and snuggle with a big bowl of popcorn made OUR way (or takeout Chinese food???). LOL.

I'd be tempted to do something at home since that is the rarest of all feelings during the summertime! Especially with DH at home too.

Wow, you hit the jackpot.

That was fun!

Ok.. what we ended up doing was having a totally relaxing time! no rush to be anywhere, no set plans, no phone calls, no tv. just us.

He got home around 2 and we swam for about an hour. After we got out and toweled off we sat under the pergola and just enjoyed talking about all the plans and projects we have going on right now. I had just bought one of those outdoor chandeliers from Target on clearance the other day and he got up on the ladder and let me test a couple of the places I want to put it. He offered to go ahead and get it up for me but I said I'd wait til the weekend. We have a candle chandelier that hangs over the bistro set, and our 9ft market umbrella keeps us from hanging something over our main patio dining table but this new one we can hang, plug in and it will hang over the grill and kitchen area closer to the house. Can't wait! cool!

We came in, showered,
Moving on quickly to the next g-rated event,
dressed and went to dinner. Yes, we chose a restaurant that we wouldn't go if we'd had kids with us because of the allergies!----what a treat! After dinner we had an hour to burn before the movie would start so we went cruising in our new truck we bought yesterday. Not NEW NEW as in brand new, We let someone else pay all that depreciation!--- We got really good deal for DH on a pick up. Fully loaded Chevy Silverado 4 door pickup with all the bells and whistles! even came with the seat warmers so the leather won't be so cold in the winter!--- Wooo hoo!
This isn't a picture of ours but it's kinda close looking. http://www.thedieselpage.com/duramax/vankeir2.jpg

We were having so much fun riding around when we pulled into the movie theatre parking lot and saw how over crowded it was we decided not to even go the movies! You'd of thought all of Little Rock decided to hit the Rave tonight! Anyway, we ended up driving out to a point and watching the river as the sun set. We talked and sang to each other when fun songs came on the radio! Then we got scared that maybe someone from OnStar could actually listen in on us so we tried to sing REALLY good! HA HA HA!

We came back by the Barnes and Noble and it was super crowded too, we just rode through the parking lot and kept right on going. A little house hunting and scouting out of up and coming neighborhoods later,
We got home. We walked the dog, looked up and shopped for some goodies on the internet and enjoyed dessert.

I feel like a teenager again. We did nothing of any real importance but had a blast!

Jackpot it was! Indeed!

Pretty funny!!! It is always nice to have a day together alone without any kids, when it happens most of us don't know what to do.

Sounds like a great day-I can't remember the last time it was only DH and I in the house-I don't think we would even know how to act....We probably would have slept the whole day (no, really, a huge nap).

I am glad that you had a fun date.

I think it would be nice to try to make it happen on a monthly basis.
If grandma is willing.
