Can a landlord paint before our move date?

We technically are in a lease until August 7th but told our landlord we are leaving on the 3rd.
He came yesterday to inspect our property and when they were leaving- the realtor informed me she would give me a two day notice before the guys came to do painting etc.
What!?
At the time I just smiled and said ok, but it makes me stressed because we have a lot of heavy furniture up against the walls they will have to move, and plenty of my delicate boxes..not to mention Ill have to leave with the kids knocking off a day or too of my moving time!

My landlords been a dream so I hate to be particular, but I am moving out 5 days before our lease runs out..

Check your lease and see what it says regarding maintenance. I am guessing that the landlord has a new tenant anxious to move in or they are wanting to show the place. They are probably within their right as long as they give you notice as specified in your lease. You could always just call and ask if there is any way they can wait until you are out of the house. I would present it from the angle that you don't want to mess anything up as you move boxes and furniture. It would create less work for them in the long run.

Good luck!
