Don't ask my why but I am really scared of going to an eye doc......always have been! My stomach starts churning days before I know I have an appointment......I know this probably isn't normal Do you have any weird fears and how do you get over them....


I have to go tomorrow, so they can check out if there was any permanent damage done when I got hit with back door to our Armada.....I just don't like people messing with my eyes!

I am terrified of any doctor! I'm always afraid that I'll get bad news, find out I have a life threatening illness. I've always said that I don't want to know, I just want to continue living life without the hospitals, medicines, etc. I think this stems partly from having watched family members suffer from horrible illnesses, then suffer from the treatment only to die a few months later. Those few months could have been better spent, IMO. I know people think I'm crazy and on the other hand if you found out soon enough there's a possibility to fight the disease or illness.
Now, as to your question.....I get nervous when going to the eye doctor because of the above fear.....he may tell me I'm going blind or something. But I can handle the eye dr. better than a medical doctor.

I am un-nerved going to the dentist. There is something about getting into that dentist chair all tilted back with my feet in the air. there being two people with their fingers in your mouth and no way to jump out of that chair quickly. I guess it is a lack of control of my body feeling. I know that all drs. are there to help you and I'm glad that they can tell me what they think will help me.Take a book to read while you are waiting in the little room and time will pass faster.

I'm not afraid of the eye doctor-- I get nervous about going to the dentist though. Probably because we don't have dental insurance, and it's all out of pocket! LOL

I am very scared of that test at the eye doctor - the puff test? I have to sign a waiver each time I refuse that test.

I don't know why a puff of air on my eyeball is so unfathonable to me, but it is!!

Not so scared of any other doctor.
