If you are giving your guests a choice I would say let them choose between the top sirloin and the veggie primavera.

Very rarely can you go wrong w/ red meat, and you're still offering an alternative for those who are vegetarians.

If you KNOW there are no vegetarians to consider then I would recommend a choice between the top sirloin and the chicken marsala.

I love chicken marsala, so I voted for that. Personally I would only pick a vegatarian dish if you don't have enough other options for non meat eaters. I would think the sirloin would be popular with the men, most of which won't be voting here, so even if the numbers don't show it, that might be a good choice as well. How many different things can you have?

I'm a chicken person myself, so it was a no brainer. The one drawback to the sirloin for me is I want my meat at least medium well; DH is a medium rare person. I would have to deal with all of the different degrees of doneness for the sirloin.

Well, this was the first time I tried posting a poll and I didn't do a very good job giving all the necessary information

Guests will be able to choose between two entrees plus the hotel will provide a vegetarian dish as a third choice (I'm not sure if it will be the grilled vegetable primavera).

I think I'd go with the chicken and the beef and then the vegetarian's can make do with the sides and the vegetarian dish that you mention.

I`d go with the beef and chicken. most weddings I`ve gone too this is what it was if it was a sit down. I`m going to be in your same boat next year when my dd gets married.

I love the chicken marsala, so I voted for that. Plus it's probably less expensive than the steak.

Umm, I think the "sliced top sirloin with au jus" is just roast beef, isn't it?

All the choices are the same price, so I don't think it's "steak"

I voted for the pork tenderloin....I personally love it and it's a little bit different and so sounds a bit more elegant. To me, chicken is kind of predictable and safe as a wedding entree....but it does seem to be everyone's favorite!!

Beef can not be "held" at a certain "doneness". I would vote for the chicken or the pork.

I work for a catering company and work several weddings each week. The top sirloin is just sliced roast beef. It will be cooked on the medium rare side and then sit in a hot box until dinner so it will be more like medium (with little or no pink) by the time it gets served. The chicken marsala is an unusual chicken choice (what I would choose if I was attending that will keep fairly well in the hot box and the pasta primavera will keep also. We have never served pork at a wedding reception that I have worked. My guess is that might dry out in the hot box.

You are probably safe choosing the beef and chicken and having the pasta primavera available as your vegetarian option. No matter what you choose, have a great time at your daughter's wedding and keep things moving, people really want to dance and mingle and have a good time!! I get to watch people celebrate the start of their married lives together each week (and I don't have to bring a gift!!) and it really is a celebration of the family and friends beng together and enjoying each other--so don't fret too much about the food (you would be amazed at how little people eat at weddings some times)

Thanks so much for your input -- since you are actually involved in catering, you certainly have a great perspective. BTW, I love your attitude about weddings being a celebration -- it's obvious you enjoy your work -- hope we have people like you doing our wedding

I think we will be going with the sliced top sirloin and the chicken marsala with the vegetarian option available as well.

This poll has really been a very helpful way to gather information -- thanks to everybody who participated.
