How we coming with those July financial goals?

I wanted to check in with all of you that had chatted in a previous thread about your july financial goals .. did you meet them.. was it a bust? How are we doing??
'
As some of you knew Jon and I jumped on the Dave Ramsey train late last month.
we got our grande in the bank!!
paid off 1 cc and paid down another by 300.00!!
We've really made great strides this month. I took up a bunch more mystery shopping jobs, added another babysitting job, and am selling more on ebay. We quit eating out except for mystery shops and have eaten mostly out of our stockpile.. great month for us!~!!

I cant really remember what my specific goals were but I dont feel as if I did as well as I was hoping. I did put $1250 on the credit card to pay it down. I had to put my tooth implant on the card and the money that I am paying right now is paying that off.

We did then go out and buy a pool also. It is great and we love it but it certainly is not something that I had set for my financial goals in July.

All in all we did ok but not as well as I was hoping.

If anyone is interested in making a goal for August, I already know what mine is going to be. We are going to eat out less and I need to get back into couponing. I hate to buy a Sunday paper just to get the coupons but it will be a good start.

Hope that everyone elses goals went well.

We ended up using our charge cards for the first time all year. Things had been really busy with Dad and we ended up ordering out, and then charging gas since I couldn't do my usual Ebay for about a month. It's been awful and we even had to charge the funeral so that's another $8000, we have to start over.

((hugs)) you'll get there.. heal emotionally first. It is such a roller coaster of emotion you've been on. We can motivate each other to get this debt paid off later. you'll be in my thoughts!

Thanks! I almost delete my posts lately, because I don't have anything good to post, it's all so depressing and about the same subject, no matter what the topic is.

I am starting again to be more careful with spending, no going out and I am skipping the store this week to get some extra $$ in the bank, maybe I can skip next week too. I have been typing away on Ebay, trying to get stuff on there and it seems to be going well, so I am on my way.

The thing is... flipper, you have the tools and know-how to get yourself out of this financial jam. Given time and thoughtful planning, you will have the bills paid off. There are so many people who rack up the debt and don't make any attempt to pay the debt off. So, you really are one step ahead. Give it time... Things will turn around for you. They really will!

Our July goals were to put aside $200 a week automatically into an ING Savings Account. That is $800 per month! It has been fun to watch the money grow.

Also, for the first time ever, I worked up an Excel spreadsheet with all of our expenses and income -- budget? I figured out that we have approximately $100 overage each week after everything else. That has actually taken a little bit of burden off of me so that I don't worry when DH eats lunch out or I want to buy something at the thrift store. Common sense really but I had never done this before!

Still thinking on August goals... but know that I will be ramping up my eBay sales so that will be added money to send directly to savings. So, my goal will somehow be related to that.

Don't beat yourself up. Just like with dieting.....if you fall short of your goals, don't dwell on it, just get back up there, and back on that horse. I think given your recent turn of events, you are doing rather well. Heck, I got take out all last week because DH was regrouting my tile, and my stove was in the LR. I'll take any excuse to not cook......LOL. Back to slaving over the stove, now, tho......

Keep posting, it's very therapeutic

You are in my thoughts flipper!!!!!

I have done well with my goals. My biz orders are growing (finally!) and I have been able to sock some money away into savings as well as buy my dream dishwasher (a bosch that is super quiet). It's been nice to be able to financially "contribute" after all my hard work.

We are doing well here. I have almost paid off our second CC. We are well on our way to being debt free (except my $300 car payment) by November.
