What do you think about Crocs?

What do you think about crocs? Do you wear them? Like them? Would not be caught dead in them?

Vote and give your opinion!

I bought a cheap pair and wear them outside when I'm doing gardening. They're great for getting in the mud because you can just hose them off.

Other than that, I don't wear them.

My daughter has 3 pair and loves them!
My 4 y.o. grandson has 2 pair, but one is an off brand and he says they are not as comfortable as the "real" ones.
I have seen a lot of nurses wearing them.

I don't get them. I think they look ugly and uncomfortable. Remeber the Jelly shoe phase and all the sore feet because the plastic did not let your skin breathe.

I think there needs to be one more option...

Ugly, but I wear them because they're comfy.

They are nothing like the jelly shoes -- way more comfortable and they are treated so your feet don't smell. My feet don't really sweat in them at all.

Wanna hear something pathetic?

My 6 year old wore her off brand to school - a really pretty color - she was thrilled.

However, a SECOND GRADER informed her on the bus that hers were not "THE REAL ONES" - hello???

Who told this 2nd grader that she needed to police others for REAL CROCS? I don't get it - the only one who would have put it into a 2nd grader's head would have been a mom, right? I mean, does a7 or 8 year old recognize the label importance in croc/croc fakes yet?

Unbelieveable.

They really are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They are goofy looking but the comfort level makes you forget that when you're wearing them. And, they have come out with some styles that are more "normal" looking and stylish.

I have to say that I thought of this topic because Croc deals are frequently posted in LWIF - Internet forum....and well, my immediate thought is "Who would want those ugly things???" LOL

DD has begged and begged me for a pair. However, her feet are like mine. We cannot wear a shoe that is manmade material. She tries to assure me that her feet wouldn't sweat in them. But I'm just not convinced. Our feet sweat even wearing sandals or flip flops.

I think they are ugly. Rubber Clogs, really. But, I have read many articles that toute (sp?) how comfortable they are.

I think a lot of people buy them because "other" people buy them, kwim???? A fashion trend, I believe, is what they call that.

If people want to wear them, fine by me...But to me, they have to be the ugliest shoes I've ever seen...I think that they look especially ridiculous on men...they look too feminine for a guy...I'd chose beauty over comfort anyday, but that's just me! ~Lisa

(and I used to wear jellies in the 80's all of the time...I had them in every color!)

Not really worse than other ladies shoes, you have the dagger heels, the pointy toed shoes that could put out an eye, the squared toed granny shoes. I'd never never find heels comfortable at all and that awful clip clop down hallways heheh

My 7year old DD has several pair of the generic ones. (different places). She loves them and KNOWS they aren't real Crocs and still wears them She doesn't care what people say. (another child told her the same thing "they aren't real crocs". Who cares, they all look the same to me.

I voted "cute on children only". I don't have any, I am a birkenstock girl. I have about 15 different pairs.

I think they're really cute, but I can't wear them. Soft, squishy soles like that irritate the plantar fascia in my feet. Otherwise, I'd wear them in a heartbeat -- the brighter the better!

IMO they are ugly as sin BUT my feet swelled with my last pregnancy and the cayman crocs are SOOO comfy! They are definately worth the price...er, when shoebuy has a 10 off 30 or 10 off any and free shipping, that is!! LOL
I just have one pair...the pearl...and I wish I would have bought the darker pair because they show every single smudge of dirt!

Ugly... But I wear them anyway.

They are especially convenient when taking the dogs out for their middle of the night potty break. Sometimes I have to drag them back in (they are hounds, and once they get on a scent they don't listen at all) and these are convenient in case I step into a "surprise" on the grass.

I have the Airwalk brand from Payless, with no holes in them.

I agree that they are not like a plastic, but rather a foam. And they are comfortable. They have taken the place of slippers for me.

I got my son a pair of the Skechers Croc-type shoes. His are a harder plastic, and he didn't like them because he said they hurt his feet.

My girls have both the Crocs and the Gators (my mom bought the Gators in Florida). They live in them! Recently I bought them Crocs Georgia boots, like the rubber boots kids wear for puddle splashing. The last 2-3 years I have bought rubber boots from Wal-Mart or even our local Agway and after 1 week of wearing them, they stink SO bad inside from the girls' feet sweating. My youngest has worn her boots for a couple of weeks now and I can stick my nose right down in them and they don't stink at all.

I think kids look cute in them, even the bright colors. Adults can wear them, but I think the really bright colors look ridiculous. I have a pair, but chose the chocolate brown color.

On a side note, has anyone noticed that the bottom of these get very dirty? Maybe I just notice it more on my daughter's shoes since they are light blue, but they are so filthy and shoes go off immediately when coming in.

I have a pair and like them. I have the "off road" version which has fewer holes around the toe box and the velcro heel strap. I like these better than the "standard" version, as there's less chance something will poke through into my toes (I'm terrible about being careful when I walk) and I can adjust the strap to get the shoe to not slide around as much (I generally dislike shoes that slide around on my feet or can come off easily. I'm not a flip flop person at all except when using public showers.)

They are kinda ugly and my feet do sweat in them (but then, I sweat a lot in general), but they're fairly comfortable, even on my very wide feet. I wear them around the house or when I go out to do a few errands. However, I'm in the minority in that I don't find them comfortable enough to wear for more than a few hours, especially if I'm going to be on my feet a lot.

They are ok i guess. My daughter got a pair of bobby jack ones at sears and she lives in them. I did notice that her feet get so dirty in them after only wearing them for a couple hours. I wash them constantly the shoes to get the black out of them.

Well, I have only a few minutes left to surf and don't have time to read all the replies, but I voted ugly. IMHO they are extremely overpriced for what amounts to plastic shoes. (Yeah, I know they are not plastic but they might as well be.
