Beware of E-Mail Sending a Greeting Card

I have been getting a lot of these e-mails lately. But, luckily I've just deleted them because they don't name the person they're coming from.

Well, I happened to be looking on Google today for ideas for an appropriate message to sign on a birthday card and came across this article from the Washington Post:

I have gotten a lot of these also - it threw me at first because I frequently send e-cards to friends; I get so much spam (even though my filter picks up 99% of it, it is so annoying.)

Does anyone know what this malware would do to a PC? I ask becaue mine was acting strange this past week and wouldn't boot up unless I started in Safe Mode and then did a restart. I did a Systerm Restore to a week prior, and it worked fine after that. I know that doesn't guarantee anything, however, so I need to do a little more investigating to see what that particular virus did, and if that's what I have, figure out how to get rid of it.

I've gotten several of those recently, and have ignored them. I just checked my DD's email account, however, and see that she received one of those emails, and that the email itself has been viewed. I can't tell whether or not she clicked the link within the email, but I'll bet she did. She and her little friends are always sending e-cards and I don't think she's web-savvy enough to have had red flags like I did! She's not here right now or I'd ask her.

I also have been getting these emails at all my email accounts daily for weeks now .
At first I thought it was real then realized it wasn't.
They have come from all the different Greeting Sites.

Getting tired of them.

I've gotten a lot of them, too. Stupid me, however, wanted to see the greeting from a friend! I clicked it numerous times trying to get it to work! After my DH basically called me an idiot, I ran anti-virus - so far nothing has happened. Hopefully the anti-virus caught it and it's not just sitting there waiting to get me.
